I'm going to further this a bit. From what I picked up from Sarai-ya Goyou, Manglobe is faithful to the original art style's of the mangaka's, regardless of how simplistic or eccentric it is. And from Samurai Champloo and Sarai-ya, they're excellent at background art. So either it will magically be fixed for the series airing, or as Eternal said, it will look fine in motion.

The key to attributing weither something is "Low Budget" is in it's animated movement and background design. Especially with simple designs like this one.

They look fine. Mind you the original designs are non descript anyways. Provided that Manglobe hasn't done horrible outsourcing the animation should look great most of the time too.

Ayumi and Mio pic in Sunday is actually a rough draft for checking the coloring for anime, so it's not supposed to be official. They put the mangaka name as Iwaki before and now this, so to avoid anymore of this kind of thing he asked Elsee to do some exorcist and gave Mio and Ayumi wallpaper to download.

And if what your saying is true. Then it's good. It's just that the picture about the preview for mio and ayumi are disturbing. Specially ayumi's eyes are a real miss for me.

Well, it got fixed up, and I like the Ayumi v.2. She reminds me of the more recent pictures of her from the sports festival. In any case, much better than the bug-eyed version from before.

quite the improvement than the first.....to be honest the first sucks even Keima's draft suck! he look retarded and gay~ so if that was going to be the final i was thinking fack how can they make the anime of the season be so s2pid

PS: any news about the second pv? where they finally introduce the story and char?

Really? I like his anime-ization. Matched the original drawings of the mangaka, at least when Keima was being serious/slightly bishounen.

Personally I like Ayumi and Mio's design, and they kind of emit a Bakemono-ish vibe.
But Keima and Elsee are just... no. Though Elsee a lot better in the PV... They seriously need to fix Keima. I hope they are doing that.

I wish we had a look at Ayumi from the front. She just looks weird at that angle, but I can't say for sure whether or not I like her design. The rest looks fine to me, though. The only thing I notice on Keima is the hair on the back of his neck. Was it always that long?

After seeing this many post for this series..I started to read manga..
I don't blame ppl for waiting this moment...I WANT TO SEE THIS SERIES AS ANIME TOO.!!!!

People seem to forget that if they go by the storyline of the manga, Hakua won't be showing up until the end of the season at best (assuming ~13 episodes). That means something more along the lines of December or January.
