Hey there,

I looked around the forums to see if this was posted yet, and was unable to find anything. There's been a particular excerpt from New Type magazine featuring DTB floating around from I believe, the July edition. The rumor mill on other forums is that it mentions a sequel, but none of the readers (even the poster) seemingly knows a lick of Japanese, and neither do I.

I waited a few weeks to see if anyone proficient in Japanese was able to give us a heads-up on what was being discussed here. I'm not holding my hopes too high considering the director said he had no intentions of a season 3 a while back, but I was hoping to find someone here who could roughly translate what it's about.

Since I haven't watched DTB in quite a while, my question to this thread is: Exactly what happened to Amber, did she quit to exist only in the human world or is she gone from everywhere forever?

Spoiler for Amber's fate:

Throughout season 1 Amber predicts the future but her price is that she becomes younger. As they approach the gate she is very young, and eventually unborns because of her constant price paying. She never 'presently' appears in Season 2 apart as an aparation.

Suou and July are placed into the other world in order to live out ordinary human lives along with other contractors who wished to be fully human and copies of real life people. It's bascially using an alternate reality therom that there are infinite futures which ties into what Amber thought: there are many changable alternate future memories.

In realations to this I don't really understand how the ending was the 'disaster' they wanted to avert. Unless it wiped out all contractors (but even then they went to happier place).

Never mind since I got the answer from other sources.

My real question to ask is what prefectures in Japan are considered restricted when Hell's Gate showed up in Japan. So far, only the eastern parts of Shinjuku, Toshima and Kita are the only ones I know are restricted to the Hell's Gate area.

Yeah, it's rumored to be out in October, which is, I believe, when Eureka Seven AO is supposed to be finished. I heard that it might be a prequel series about when Hei, Bai, Amber, and Havoc were in South America.

It was subtle and I didn't pick up on it at first, but Amber's remuneration was aging backwards. It sounds crude to say, but this is also why her chest size decreases between her introduction/flashbacks of her, and her time throughout the rest of the series. I thought that seeing her as a child within the Gate was something from the Gate's effects, similar to what happened to Nick, the scientist from PANDORA in the first season. Alas, it seems like her being a child had more to do with her remuneration.

Thus, when she uses her power one more time to send Hei back in time to stop the Saturn Ring thing, the remuneration requirement would seemingly reverse-age her to the point of non-existence. So, the way I view it is that she no longer exists. The way it played out was rather beautiful, in a sense; she made the ultimate sacrifice.

I just finished watching both seasons and the OVAs, and felt discontent with some of the information that was left out. What happens to Yin and Hei at the ending of season 2 is fairly ambiguous, but for some reason the sticking point for me is Madame Oreille. She sounded as if she were about to give some background on herself at the end of season 2, but is interrupted and doesn't speak more on it later. The OVA's didn't clear up much about her, either. It's nothing critical to the series, but it bothered me that we don't really know anything about who she is or what her motives were (nor anything about her twin dolls).
