Well I loved the van gang in this episode, so many amusing little quotes in there ("Forget truth is stranger than fiction, truth is ripping off my novel!") and did they have an Occult Academy reference in there? I caught a MIB one but wasn't quite sure about the other.

Spoiler for future characters?:

I was surprised to see a yakuza character or two in there, I don't recall them actually appearing in the rest of the anime but they certainly appear in the rest of the novels, maybe Brain's Base is using the extra episodes to help build up to a second season?

Edit: Oh that was so much fun. I probably enjoyed this more then the second half of the series.

Anri wearing a yukata and nekomimi...

This episode was just awesome. Oh, how I missed the fun Durarara!! In the end, the story of this ODV was fairly simple but the directing made it very interesting to follow. Furthermore, there were tons of very fun scenes (The UFOs ) and Celty was super moe as always.

What are you thinking about exactly? The bentora bentora space people? It's a famous "chant" or whatever you want to call it. I've heard it in a few shows before Occult Academy.

About the Yakuza, the guy called Shiki appeared in the anime already. Haruna's father interviewed him.

That's what I was thinking about, given the fact that it was Erika and Walker chanting it I thought it has a fair chance of being another anime reference, guess I was off there. And I had forgotten that Shiki had been interviewed before, nice catch.

OMG! Engrish! Everywhere!

That was fun for a special. Despite it being only 3 months since the show ended, it feels like quite a longtime since the cast were together again. Favorite part was seeing Shizuo upgrade to picking up tress. Van gang were hilarious as usual and the trio were pretty cute.

It might be an anime reference, all I know is that if it is, it's a reference to something waaaay older than Occult Academy (I know it was in Urusei Yatsura, but I have no idea if that's where it originated from)
