Hopefully Shinbo won't play too much on his signature directing skills. I like Shinbo's older stuff (starship girl yamamoto Yohko, triangle hearts sweet song forever) but I think he goes overboard in Pani Poni Dash. A little of his signature directing skills is great, but doing too much actually make the show bad.

Color me surprised, he is .

Now my interest meter has raised significantly. I was skeptical when I heard "Shinbo" and "Mahou Shoujo", truthfully.

The most surprising is, he's also the one who make Nanoha of Lyrical Toy Box:

In three years, we'll have an OVA called "Nanoha vs Magika." Mark my words.

Now that more people are used to Shinbo's way of directing, go back and rewatch the first four episodes of Nanoha. They're very Shinbo.

Come to think of it, if the show could've been mistaken for an Anime no Chikara one, it should be good enough to be in the 5pm slot. wow, can't believe I just wrote that

Joking aside, I can see it. Aniplex might be looking to replicate the same success as Bakemonogatari here with SHAFTXShinobo and maybe generate publicity in the opposite direction when they fail to finish the episodes in time to have more people watch the timeslot and the genre would certainly attract a wider demographic. But I'm worried about that to be honest.

(If it does take over after Star Driver, then this will be a Spring 2011 show?)

All right, Shaft and Shinbo have peaked my interest here...

Let's hope someone can keep the schedule on track...

don't want a repeat of Bakemonogatari's production snafus...

Arabesque said it better!

Hmm well I'm curious. I can't make a guess about how this is going to turn out. But do agree it's got potential.
