You can check out the Fate/stay night anime, but it does not do the original visual novel justice. The visual novel does have a lot more mythological elements and is overall much more enjoyable.

I sound like a preacher when F/SN comes up now.

Sure you are

I second Fate/Stay Night and maybe can add Saint seiya( the Lost Canvas is the most recent part of the series).

Saint Seiya
is based on Greek myths and there are many great fights.

Yeah i highly recommend Saint Seiya. The original series anyway, and not Lost Canvas.

I've seen Lost Canvas , but it ended so strangely, but I just hate old anime so I couldn't bear to watch the original.

I think you might also like Asian fantasy adventures like Seirei no Moribito, Junni Kokuki ("Twelve Kingdoms"), Saiunkoku Monogatari, or Kemono no Sou-ja Erin.

All of Erin and the first four episodes of Moribito are currently streamed legally at Crunchyroll.

I'll also say Fate/Stay Night.

Nurarihyon no Mago - not really mythology, but all youkai are based on their original designs from Japanese culture.

Mythology? As in Japannese mythology?

The only series that come to mind are Naruto and Darker than Black.

I think Shounen Onmyouji would be a nice choice here as well, though the mythology is strictly on the Japanese variety.
