That's what would happen to most people if they told their father they would beat the crap out of them... that, or being thrown out of the house. And I don't know about you, but I'd rather be punched in the face than be cut off from my family. You act like he's being systematically abused. On the contrary he showed great disrespect over a rather trivial subject matter to someone who provides for him and raised him. Not only that but he was getting physical by grabbing him, yelling in his face, and threatening him...

Funny you bring up the US when this is a show about Japan. Have I somehow become a mouthpiece for my country now? And am I to assume that the place you live is anti-violence to the point that interpersonal relationships are ruined? No, because not only is that in bad taste it is impossible to judge a country by one person...

The thing that kind of shocked me about this episode was how disrespectful Kyōsuke was to his father... If I where the father, I would have had enough once he laid hands on him. It's one thing to have your kids argue over something worthwhile, but when they cross a line, you have to put a foot down. And I'm not a big fan of the father hitting ether. Other then that, I'm hooked on this anime.
I think I would consider myself a proud Otaku.

Cool episode, with concerned parents vs their children's hobbies which isn't really something you see too much in anime. And yea, that R-18 thing just totally had him cornered.

I would like to give the highest score "Perfect 10" to this episode.
Kirino's passion for her hobby and Kyosuke's affection for her were very impressive for me.
Especially I appreciate Kyosuke in that he persisted in his insistence even in front of his terrible father.

Just started the series, and I just passed this episode. Have to say that Kyosuke is one hell of a brother. To stand up against his ''Kenpachi'' father in order to save his sister, very few would actually go that far. A give a perfect 10 for this episode, which made me realize what great series was I missing.
