Steampunk OR Cyberpunk!

• Steampunk:

  Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s. Specifically, steampunk involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain—that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; in other words, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc. This technology may include such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne or real technologies like the computer but developed earlier in an alternate history.

  Consider anime like Serial Experiments Lain, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Bubblegum Crisis, and much, much more.
  Not acceptable:
  Images/renders that do not imply a super-futuristic, near-future Earth. Renders of some anime character with a computer or with headphones on do not count as they imply no sense of the future marriage of man and machine.

The chosen theme should be very clear in the sig. The viewer should not have to guess which theme the sig is trying to fulfill, nor should the viewer have an understanding of the anime/render used to see the relevance to the theme.
Renders do not have to be solely from anime, though I think it more challenging. I also hope to see some animation this month, as we've had a sad lack of it for the past recent competitions.

Sorry for jumping in with a question regarding the theme already, but this time I want to start early I was wondering if this scan is suitable for the Cyberpunk theme? I kind of feel like it's not that obvious >.<

Mmm, as long as the viewer can still clearly see that the wires, I think it works. I also like that the image is kindof dark/dirty, giving off this feeling of a far future that is also grungy.

Same with what I said for Halad, I think it works because of two things:
the human/machine combination, and the text. The text implies a society of like creatures.

Due to the specifications and probable difficulty of this theme for many people, I'm prolly going to be fairly lenient on the cyberpunk theme.
