Manga or Anime with Kuudere

I was doing some discussing and after some thinking concerning the subject at hand I realized that I have not seen many kuuderes and thus have few reference points.

So, does anyone have any suggestions where a main character or a repeating supporting character is a kuudere?

Christ, there's little chance of me having watched something you haven't...

It's a long shot but have you checked the TVTropes page?:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Kuudere

Also, have you seen the whole Kara no Kyoukai series? I think Ryougi Shiki is a Kuudere.

If I go by off there only one I can/would be Shizuku of Kampfer , she's definitely a kuudere, but kampfer falls out of a lot of people's tastes as a series.

I'd never heard the term kuudere so I'm going of the definition from TV Tropes...

Kokoro from Aishiteruze Baby?
Maria from Akuma to Love Song?
Maybe 2 characters from Cat Street...
Urabe from Nazo no Kanojo X?

Read a couple of those at your own risk; I know Akuma to Love Song got really boring after a while... I don't remember how much I liked Cat Street..

I'm not really sure what "kuudere" means even after reading the description on the link. can you be more detailed about the kind of character you are looking for?

Lafiel, one of the main characters, is a perfect fit based on the TVtrope's definitions. She is most definitly a TYPE 1 variant.

Not sure, but I think Ai in her arc in Amagami SS sort of fits Kuudere?
~I just looked up what that means so I could be totally off the mark...

That is on my to watch list but I'm not too big on the gender bending. I do plan to check it out, thanks.

Reading Nazo no Kanojo and Urabe would be a kuudere I think. I'll check the other two, thanks.

Like a tsundere, except instead of tsun i'ts kuu, which is cold. It's a character who shows little to no emotion outside of her dere moments.

Not sure if she fits it. Besides... K-On became boring in the second season to me.

Those look interesting, most thankful.

I don't think Ai fits the bill. None of the girls from Amagami fit into any one character type such as kuudere or tsundere (it's one of it's plus points).

Noticed that Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha is missing from your list. Not sure if you forgot to add it or not watched it since it's very popular but nonetheless if you haven't, Fate Testarossa is a great example of a kuudere.

Yuuko Ichihara from XXXholic is kuudere too, though she doesn't show her dere side for a quite a long time.

Chika Ogiue from Genshiken is pretty kuudere as well. Genshiken is probably the best "otaku-reference-parody etc" show I've seen. Personally would say it's MUCH better than Lucky Star, Seitokai, Comic Party, Doujin Work, My Sister Can't be this cute etc and its various clones. And its set in a university club.

Otherwise, although I know hardly anything about Touhou, one of my friends who is a Touhou addict tells me that Patchouli Knowledge is a great example.

And seconding Kara no Kyoukai. Ryouga Shiki is one the most badass kuuderes in anime. Just a note though, the movies aren't in chronological order so don't get boggled if you get confused... I think chronologically it goes something like 2, 4, 3, 1, 5, 6, 7.

I would like to recommend HakoMari (Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria), which is a light novel series currently translated by Baka-Tsuki. Aya/Maria Otonashi sort of fits into your description, methinks.

I think Sonya from Kill me Baby (thread at AS) can be described by that as well, but she is a bit mean sometimes. she will surely remind you of a twin tail female of purple hair.

I do have some females in mind, but they are more mean rather than cold.

Awesome. Thanks for the extra suggestions.

I'll add the light novel to the list of things to read once I get my eReader

I'll second it if someone's else opinion is that Fate is kuudere, since I've only watched it recently and tropes didn't list her, hence I didn't mention it before.

Legend of the Legendary Heroes (Yes it's actually called that) has a Kuudere as one of the main characters but Your Mileage May Vary on how she treats her love interest...

There's Mai from Kanon (which is already on your To Watch List) and Akashi from Tatami Galaxy.

Anbd I suppose Lala Ru from Now and Then, Here and There counts...
