Granted I still saw very little development between Kira and Lacus relationship-wise.

Also, for many people the high school sweetheart is the woman you marry, so that was a terrible analogy, Alpha.

Wow, you met some lucky people then. Half the people I went to school with didn't even end up talking to one another into their adult years. And those who did get married...got divorced soon afterward. And met other folks, and maybe got married again, and so on.

I dunno about that. I wasn't even thinking of my high school years; I spent most of them in a long-distance relationship myself. But I know not everyone who has a relationship lasting through high school has it fall apart after graduation.

Is there anything left to develop in the Kira - Lacus relationship? Lol

They loved each other, period, hell the only thing lacking is Kira directly telling Lacus he loves her, and that time will come eventually

That, and, you know, sleeping with her.

He did that many times already. Was just never shown in TV because Fukuda couldn't handle the Fllay backlash.

I assure you, Kira drilled Lacus harder than a dentist through a kid's cavity behind the scenes. XD

The SE1 sex scene was never in the TV series, because people were getting angry that they showed that in a gundam series. This I think is part of the reason why Fllay ends up dead, actually.

Thats's a good one.. hehehe. Though the Gundam Series in my opinion contains some mature content, adding "sex scene" will somehow ruins the mood...

That sounds very sad . I mean I'm not seeing the same girl since high school myself but I know a lot of people who still are...some married too. I have to say that most friends still stick together even when they reach adult hood. All my best mates are from my high school days (some even kindergarden), I'd say high school is a period where you're going through a lot of changes and the people that go through that experience with you can never be replaced. Of course you can still meet awesome college friends for life too.

Anyway back to Kira and Lacus. I never really saw much return of feelings from Kira to be honest. He feels really passive when it comes to Lacus and she's always the one pressing all the buttons and caring for him. But for Fllay though...Kira actually does get emotionally involved. I would've liked the pairing of Lacus and Kira more if Kira actually returned some of the feelings on-screen instead of just giving a dopey smile.

About all the Kira and Lacus having sex, don't worry we get plenty of that in doujinshis.

Kira also cares for Lacus. He escort her when she went to space and went to her rescue when the Eternal was being attacked in space.

Well not only that but Kira was so worried about her going into space in the first place Lacus had to talk him down from going with her.

While Kira and Fllay had to much drama in there relationship to work long term on the other hand Kira and Lacus seem to just fit well.

We know he cares about her, it's been implied plenty of times before... he's just not really emotive about it. This, combined with the fact that their relationship has absolutely no conflict in it whatsoever to make it interesting makes my interest in the couple very, very slight.

I'm not joking when I said that Kira and Flay got all the romantic development and then he was handed off to Lacus for her series victory. Its just... boring, and to me reeks of poor writing.

EDIT: And what a lot of people don't realize is this: drama helps develop relationships and it is by no means a harbinger of "It won't work out". Relationships don't work if both sides don't contribute to it, and while Flay's reasons for maintaining the relationship were the wrong reasons and the break-up WAS needed to help them work it out, their relationship didn't last because Kira couldn't handle it. Things might've been different if he'd stood up to Flay that one time instead of ending it there.

Honestly, I believe if Flay had survived the final battle and had reached the Archangel, I feel there's a possibility that a romance could've been renewed between the two. And Lacus, being the kind-hearted girl she is, likely would've supported Kira on that if that was what he wanted. After all, Lacus has no reason to hate Flay, from what we've seen. She seemed more worried for the girl during their brief time knowing one another.

True, but it always felt less passionate than what was with Fllay. Besides you gotta have to save the damsel in distress...especially when she's your sugar mama. Kira, to be honest, is nothing more than a well-dressed unemployed bum living with the richest girl in CE. But all jokes aside, saving your friend is really the logical decision. I'm sure Kira would save Natarle and Cagalli but that doesnt mean he's got strong romantic feelings for them. I'm not saying he doesn't love Lacus at all but he really doesn't look like he cares too much (even if he does it wasn't very well shown). It seems like he's just with her because he can be, like he's keeping her until someone better comes along...except no one better in CE exists, so he's settled.

But his stronger reaction to Fllay was probably because he was going through emotional trauma during their relationship...and of course she died.

I do agree that even in real life sometimes when you're compatible you just fit well and there's just no drama and it looks really stagnant when you're looking at it from the third person pov. So that does justify their current status...they just look boring together (in a show).

Well RD I agree Kira and Flay relationship makes for much better tv then Kira and Lacus not a healthly relationship but very entertaining for us.

Made an edit that was partly in response to you (but goes towards everyone, really) in case you want to reply to that.

Well RD some drama can help a relationship however there are limits to it. I read a study awhile go that found that while opposites do attract sameness has a much higher chance of lasting lasting people do love drama but if your relationship is in state of conflict most of the time eventually someone is going to have enough and leave.

I don't think they could have worked things out in the end Flay's hatred of cordidantoors runs to long and deep seems more likely she would endup the face of some new Blue Cosmos PR campaign if she survived.

Okay so after GS Kira became a gigolo don't hate the player just because he hit the jackpot and the women keeping him has looks and as well as money.

You seem to be forgetting that drama doesn't last. As I said, breaking up helped put things into perspective for Flay. In the end it was beneficial. If the two of them got together after the war, after Flay's had her epiphanies and realizations, and with Kira's own maturity, a relationship between the two would be radically different.

So you're just going to ignore the fact that because of her time with Coordinators, Flay realized she was a total idiot who never understood anything about them or the war she was in? Convenient.

Try not to completely ignore the character development because of a dislike or a character or a bias towards a pairing. It really doesn't work.

I'm not ignoring anything you my want to try rewatching the show once in awhile rather just shooting your mouth off chief you clearly don't remember the way she actauly was when she was with Zaft seemed like she was ready to jump out of her skin at first and then a state of shock. But I'm sure you'll continue to insist I'm ignoring facts that don't exist.
