No. They simply used it later on during cannon events to give the illusion of cannon. Same goes for the Mod Souls. They're the reason I stopped watching the Anime for a while. xD

but it still was almost cannon because the arc seemed cannon no lie. Take out the ending and it was the best arc ever and the mod souls were great too. I think Kairya could beat some of the captians I mean it he was on par with Byakuya or almost beat him

Must've been weird to erase characters from your mind, then see them again.

No... it IS anime canon. The characters introduced in the Bount arc being in the next contiguous arc makes it canon. Trying to deny that is fan dis-continuity, and shouldn't be brought up in discussions as if it were fact.

You don't know where "anime filler" comes from, do you? It could come from Kubo. It might not. It does not matter though.

Fun fact, not all of the manga comes from Kubo, either. The backgrounds, for instance, which one of his assistants draws in. When there IS a background, of course. *cough*

Not to mention that if you only consider manga episodes canon in the anime, and not anime originals, you should only consider only the animation frames taken directly from the manga, and no frames in between(which are anime original). Even most of the colors are anime original. I mean if you insist on trying to separate true anime canon into "manga canon" and "filler"...

the entire anime is canon, but it wholly anime-canon

manga-canon = manga only, I don't even take anime into account here, why would I do that

and obviously I didn't mean the *ahem* oh so lush and vibrant backgrounds in the manga, but the plot, which comes straight from Kubo's twisted mind

not sure what the argument is here .. Bount arc is filler because it isn't in the manga, but it is in anime-continuity, it's not like everything Bount-related happened in some Alternative Bleach universe

I apologize. I just ramble on when I'm half asleep, and most of what I posted comes from having to post the same crap over and over again because this subject comes up so much. I guess I'm not perceiving what you mean right. :/

No of course it is a filler I am saying it is a filler yet it is cannon

Quoted as my reasoning.

I also agree that "Anime Continuity" does not equal "Cannon". We watch the Anime for fun, because it is essentially bringing the manga to life for us. Do we take it seriously? No.
The animation is what makes the Anime the Anime.
Added story is what makes filler filler. Two totally different concepts, really.

EDIT:

That implies that you actually take certain forms of entertainment seriously. All manga and anime supposed to be watched/read for fun.

Yep. Entertainment happens on all levels; Seriousness and Entertainment are not polar opposites. And fun is different for all people.

And that's perfectly fine, if a tad misconstrued.
