Hmm... the war between country is not that apparent in the story itself when you read it, after all IS Gakuen is supposed to be a independent territory(kinda like Vatican in real life) and that's where most of the story take place anyway.

No war exist as of yet in the story. But rivalries between country still exist. As shown
by the IS fight tournaments and how different countries try to one up each other.

Yeah, I mean rivalries. Sorry about my bad choice of word ><. The rivalries is mentioned, but it does not feel prominent at all in the story. For example, our heroes group are a mix of citizens from Japan, France, England, and Holland(I think Laura is from there? or was it German? I kinda forgot), and their nationalities doesn't bring any tension whatsoever in their daily interaction, so does any other students in the IS Academy. The rivalries is still mentioned over and over, and often become the backstory of some of the heroines, but it still feels like it's not an integral part of the story so far.

can anyone tell me what volume Houki get her new IS. Ichika get it setsura, and meet silver gospel. i think they decide to end there.

Houki get her new IS in vol 3, before the battle with silver gospel. If you have read up to the part where Ichika get Setsura, then Houki already get her new IS Benitsubasa.

Short summary on vol 5 :
The Academy's Headmaster suspect that Ichika's life and his unique IS is being targeted because he is the only male IS Pilot, so the Headmaster assign the strongest person in the academy, the student council president to keep an eye on him. The student council president, Sarashiki Tatenashi, kinda likes mischief, so while she's doing her assignment, she kinda makes a lot of event that take most part of the volume's story. In the end, we get a glimpse of the main bad guy organization and Ichika get forcefully recruited as the Student Council Vice President.

That's the basic gist of the story from what I can remember.

Spoiler for 4th volume:

4th volume is kinda like a side story. It's divided into 4 parts. The first part is about Rin and Cecilia. They're supposed to go to an amusement park with Ichika, but Chifuyu ask him to run some IS test so Ichika ask those two to enjoy the amusement park ticket together. Second part is about Laura and Charlotte doing a part time at a cafe and suddenly a terrorist come and make the people at the cafe hostage. Third part is about Houki and Ran with Ichika going to a Summer festival. Last part is about all the girl going to Ichika's house to cook.

My copy of volume 6 hasn't arrived yet, but I think zephyr already read it. You can either PM him/her or wait for my copy to arrive and I finish reading it before writing a summary here.

2. 2nd and 3rd page Ran, sister of Ichika 's best friend found Charlotte's pantsu in Ichika room ( not sure if it is the case but basically the in the picture Ran hold a pantsu (shimapan ) saying "i..ichika-san" and the next panel showing Ichika with a question mark and Charlotte extremely embarrassed face
3. 4th and 5th page, Silent Zephyrus
4. 6th and 7th page, Cecilia in a bathtub

The lack of Rinin bathing/fanservice is disappointing. Wait, her fanservice highlights usually is aimed at noting how she has a nice ass.

And I think I know who's next on the cover of the next volume: Ran.
