Yup, and rail guns are actually projectile weapons that are fired at high velocity by electromagnetic fields (rather than gas molecules)... So they aren't beam weapons. That's why Forbidden (not Calamity as you said...) wasn't able to reflect them.

Yes.. i saw kira slice up a few ships at the end of seed too... couldnt believe my eyes. After he kicked up such a big fuss about killing people.. he goes and slays like a couple of hundred lol!

Freedom owns all other gundams we need KIRA!! Shinn is a faker BOOOO! Impulse Gundam = V Gundam lol..

From the looks of things, certain characters/parts of the storyline is basically SEED rehashed.

plasma is super heated gas - heat based damage

ions are atoms with one more electron, and become accelerated when charged that's why NASA is considering using them for space craft engines, such charges would play havok when discharged in large amounts, and would cause electical damage and impact damage

doesn't really matter who killed Shin's parents.

All the fans want is a Impulse vs. Freedom fight, and they'll get it soon enough.

Here's what's gonna happen in my opinion: Shin will see Freedom and attack it thinking it is responsible for the death of his family. If Calamity, Forbidden and Raider were still around, he'd attack them too, but they aren't so he can't, so Freedom is the only focus of Shin's revenge.
During the fight, Kira and Shin yell at each other, Kira will blabber on about he doesn't like war, blah blah blah, and it will be revealed that it was an accident (or maybe that Freedom nor Calamity killed his family at all and that something else did), and Kira and Shin will shake hands, be happy, etc. Kira becomes a supporting character, Shin will continue on his mission to "retrieve" the stolen Gundams, go ga-ga over Stellar, etc. etc.

There's my 2 cents
