Ahhh, that's why. Well, since the more up-to-date source for translations locked and deleted her translations to the public, there aren't any that are current. Deacon has the prologue done but apart from that it's mostly whatever news trickles down through this thread. That's why we've been calling for a more complete summary-of-events. XD

(I'm the main Gundam wikia editor for FT, btw, hi. If you have any suggestions, I'm open to 'em! I know the summary needs to be worked out still, but I'm getting to it.)

Hmm...I'm not sure I understand what you mean but are you trying to say their is no english -fan translation that is regularly available for anyone at any time?

(Oh hello! nice you meat you too thank you for your work on that page. I honestly can't give you any suggestions because I have not completely read the whole page yet because just reading the few lines in the beginning have got me excited to the point I just did not want to spoil more things like characters and such before I find a fan translation first. So far so good so I thank again for your work )

Alrighty... I'm not sure how I'm going to go about doing this, but I suppose I'll make it a bit interesting. As if...

We've reached MC (Mars Century) File 1. This is supposed to be about Zechs' past, but alas even two chapters in we haven't seen it yet. Next month, maybe? At any rate, Dorothy opens up the chapter with the narrative she said to Zechs upon her approach to the battleship Libra. Yes, it is exactly as she says in Gundam Wing. Why? Well duh, there's only one way to say it :/

Quote:

                          AC-195 Dorothy

"Once upon a time there was a person with two names. That person was the direct heir of a pacifist nation, but he wore a mask and changed his name to take revenge against those responsible for the nation's collapse. He soon became a legendary hero of an army. Today that person says he will punish foolish earthlings. What has made him go this far? And can one call this an act of pacifism, or are these the instincts of a warrior? It's possible that this person actually dislikes pacifism, or maybe he dislikes his sister who keeps believing in his father's pacifist ways. I guess no one really know what his true intentions are..."

AC-195 Dorothy
Leaving that behind, we shift to MC-0022 NEXT WINTER. The narrator has shifted focus again, and this time we're told that it's someone who has no name or past. This particular individual was also made to carry out terrorist acts for the sole purpose of being allowed to live on Mars' harsh land. Although he wasn't particularly troubled by it, those around him thought it was and therefore gave him the name "no name". He is someone without a past.

He gives us a retrospect on history and that he doesn't believe in this "past" that's considered "history". Whether he's utilizing this as an excuse for ignoring the events of the past is beyond me, but he doesn't find a value in it and couldn't really "give a damn" about it. Cue the "history of Mars" series:

Quote:
It was five years ago, MC-0017, that the Martian Federation Government declared their independence as a Martian nation from the Earth Sphere Unified Nation. The revolutionary period of Mars is about two years Earth time. Therefore, itís been about ten years Earth time, so to speak. The representative of the Martian government was its founding president: Milliardo Peacecraft. He was chosen democratically by the Martian representatives and after repeatedly negotiating with the tenacious {steadfast/persistent?} Earth Sphere Unified Nation, he alluded to the sabotaging {obstruction?} of commercial corporate groups of Martian development. Without one drop of blood spilled or resorting to extreme measures like a war for independence, the Martian government gained the right of self-government. Amidst this declaration of independence, those who came to live on Mars started calling themselves Martians.
The narrator continues to tell us that following a "colony standard" timetable was a hindrance for everyday life and that a calendar suitable for Mars was necessary. So in light of the change, the history of mars was isolated from the Earth Sphere.

Quote:
However, recently, the public order on Mars has been in disarray. The dissatisfaction of a disparate society was on the verge of exploding. In a matter of just a few years, conflict had cropped up in various places. It began with the breakup of joint enterprise development. The deep confrontational gap of the anti-Earth Sphere nation faction and the pro-Earth Sphere nation was deep. The leaders of the Federation government, while making the odds indistinct with their neutral viewpoints, entrusted the quelling of unrest and maintaining of public order from the police force to the military branch.

The chain of hatred toward people who come from different races and religions continued. And the victims retaliated, calling for results and further revenge. So, the current situation was but an eternal dance that unfolded night after night with no end in sight. Perhaps many think this because the system of peacekeeping has not been completed in the Earth Sphere. The Martian people thought that if itís come to this, they shouldnít have become independent.

More than one year has passed.
I'll continue on with this in a little while... I basically ended up translating most of the chapter thus far simply because of the sheer amount of information in it.

Wow...that's a lot to take in. Looks like there's a lot going on in Chapter 5. So racial tension is still prominent despite the move to another planet? Interesting...

From what I saw in-series, there was some sort of colony racial segregation at least on L-5 in terms of Wufei's clan. However, that's solely a fan assumption. Guess uniting as one Martian race doesn't solve that problem. I assume that Quatre has his Maganac Corps with him on Mars so Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian races are represented. Of course, the West would be represented by the likes of Duo and the Peacecrafts. Wonder if they'll go into the power blocs 00 had in their first season. Overall, this premise of a new global politics on Martian soil is promising. Perhaps the UESA will be revived in some capacity in a new Martian equivalent? History is an endless waltz and all that...

When will the masses learn not to hitch their wagons to a Peacecraft?

Continuing on with another blurb from the chapter:

Quote:
A large-scale summit was being held at the Federation government’s central municipality, Relena City, on Elysium island located near the Martian equator. Many important people were invited. Presidential Aide Lady Une and Ambassador Sylvia Noventa were in attendance as well. A frozen hibernation capsule named "The Little Prince" was symbolically set up in the chairperson’s seat in the interior of the conference hall. Although one of the roses with thorns entwined downward onto the capsule was an imitation, it was very beautiful nonetheless. Asleep inside it was an eternally beautiful girl: Relena Darlian, known for her distinguished services with Mars’ terraforming. I heard that she’s still sleeping in the capsule even now due to encountering unexpected trouble during her transit from Earth to Mars, but details surrounding it weren’t made public. Milliardo, the first president of the Martian Federation government {omit this redundancy?}, stood in front of it and was delivering a speech to the government heads and key figures from each nation. He spoke about the history of peace and its simplicities.

I was successful in passing myself of as an escort guard. Turning my back towards him, I proceeded towards the front row. The orders were given during the speech. Just then, explosions happened throughout {around} the conference room. This was according to plan. It was a timing device provided by my comrades. Now, it was my job to move the President and the other SP to a safe location away from the chaos of the conference hall. That was my official face until the end.

I cried out to him, “This way!”

At the same time, I took out a pistol, took aim at the target and pulled the trigger.

The silencer muffled the noise as the bullet pierced the aged President Milliardo right between his wrinkled eyebrows. At that moment, yet another explosion occurred somewhere else. This was also as planned. Taking advantage of the confusion, I escaped outside the conference room where I immediately removed my security guard clothing and put on my favorite knitted hat, drawing it low over my eyes. Its wool was worn here and there and so my comrades often ridiculed me whenever I put it on my head.

But, there was no doubting that I was the one who killed Milliardo Peacecraft.
I expected more detail to this Not just "bang yer dead".

Trowa Phobos is quite the smooth operator. I wonder if his comrades are people of any significance.

Then I guess there is no fan translation that is available all the time then, huh?

@Deacon Blues Is that how you learn about the story? One of you translation it? Wow, that's really good.

But why at least not collect them all together ? So that both old fan or new comers like me can read it orderly.

I'm working on the older chapters, but since I'm so far into this one I might as well just see it through...

OMG what an incredible feeling when you don't check on the thread for hours and hours and come back and then boom loads of new information greet your face. It's been quite a while since we got some facts. Thanks Deacon. I'mma kiss you. Ok, jokes. Don't hate me. xD

EDIT: WAIT! I only just remembered. It's not that big of a deal but did they ever elaborate on Heero's capsule? Who it resembled and all that? Is it Relena? Coz that would be epic if it was really her. xD

I also wonder if they will ever touch on Relena's capsule. If hers resembled Zechs or Heero. If it was Heero her capsule resembles, then I can only assume that it's definitely Relena whom Heero's capsule resembles... because they're epicly sappy and sentimental like that. But if it was Zechs, then there's a chance that Heero's capsule resembles someone else. I'd be crushed... and I ain't afraid to say it.

I'll slap up the FRONT, SIDE and ANGLE parts when I get home. The rest is useless gibberish. Is it me or does Heero look a but more buff than usual? :P

Edit: Nothing special here.

FRONT: A large apparatus that spans over 3 meters. Angel wings enclose it, symbolizing the sleeping Aurora Princess. Who could the beautiful girls face resemble?

ACROSS: When the wings are spread inside the cryonics capsule is a body as if it is being completely embraced by the arms of the Aurora Princess.

SIDE: The profile is also a beautiful Aurora Princess. When the cold capsule is defrosted with it's transparent properties, countless drops of water with radiance like an aurora are given off.

Umm. No, I ain't forgetting it. A. Because I have the magazine. B. Because we discussed it, before I even got the magazine. It's NOT the illustration I was looking for. I'm looking for an actual word that confirms it's Relena. Because I don't remember reading one.

And it's okay, I kinda figured by now that no matter how people try to be polite to you, you still find a way to get annoyed at them and tell them off.

lmao @ the capsule- WHO COULD IT POSSIBLY BE :OOO

Guuuuueeeessss what just came in the mail! \o/

If I don't start scanning tonight (I just had to get my laptop reformatted AGAIN, like the 3rd time this month, so I'm still setting it back up =_=) I'll start tomorrow, since I don't have class tomorrow. I'll do FT first, then GotD.

For now- this month's illustrations!

Spoiler for Illustration dump! Beware, large files.:

o Katherine, wry so cloney.

This month's GotD features Howard having a flashback to when he met young Treize (who is almost adorable, btw). The chapter seems to be rather short, though, and features mostly conversation about Tallgeese (the part when Zechs first goes to see it, etc) with Trowa's attack on the base just about to start when the chapter ends.

Thanks a lot Kit!

I'd rock Heero's Preventer jacket.

Looking forward to the GotD chapter. Walker!
