The episode is about to begin as I type. I decided to think that nine is one and one makes ten, so Walpurgisnacht in the prolog should happen sometime in the episode. Will find out if I am dead wrong.

So, further to my predictions from two episodes ago, here are the predictions of "still/again":

1. By the time I get around to watch the episode, there will be at least 10 pages on this thread again, as much as I don't want to (sadly I have to go offline right after this post);
2. There will be arguments again over whether Kyuubee is evil or not, even though I would expect much less;
3. Madoka will still be a non-MG;
4. Sayaka will still survive this episode in some form;
5. Again, more people will believe in ED lyrics.

Predictions 3 and 4 go together, which means if 4 goes wrong, I would expect 3 to be wrong too. I just can't imagine how Madoka wouldn't snap or ask to be a MG right away if Sayaka gets erased.

Anyhow, my prediction will be...kyoko gets killed (i hope not) DX madoka might feel a bit awkward around homura bec. of that emotional outburst. sayaka...i dunno..will she be saved? DX and more QB-ness this ep..

I expect Walpurgisnacht to be the climax of the show, so I doubt it would occur so early. The whole Sayaka issue has to be resolved before then. But I could be wrong too.

They ran instead of killing/fighting Sayaka.
Homura calls the grief seed stage the final step in a MG's life/whatever

My stream crapped out during NQB8R's long lecture.
Heard something about the release of energy when a soul gem shatters, but I missed a lot of it.
QB doesn't know if soul gems can be restored.
Kyoko wants to see if there's any part of witch Sayaka that can still recognize Madoka...


But I think the most damning thing is that QB reveals he didn't stop these events in ep 9 to put Homura in a hard place for Witches' Night and make it more likely Madoka will have to contract with him.

All I'll say for now after having watched the stream,more than ever,I'm glad I chose the sig I did.

It turns out that I am mostly wrong I think. Walpurgisnacht is briefed to Madoka, and the Incubator engaged in a tell-all moment. Kyouko decided to go with Sayaka and keep her company is rather emotionally damaging to watch.

Silly Kyoko. Justice and courage will never prevail in a Urobuchi story. She found that out the hard way. Sayaka was already beyond saving, the only thing she could do for her is put her out of her misery (and Kyoko killed herself in the process).

Only one magical girl left.

Waiting for subs to comment on Kyubey's justification. It seemed ridiculously convoluted. Something about entropy and the balance of the universe...
It should be noted that Kyubey started referring to himself by the pronoun "we" , implying there are several incubators around.

Episode 9 done.
As expected, lots of revelations for the girls, and thus a lot of confirmation regarding few things.

Spoiler for Episode 9:

As expected with the preview of last week, Kyoko didn't give up on Sayaka. Meanwhile, Madoka is crushed, but doesn't turn desperate with Kyuube. Actually she does accuse him of deceiving them from the get go, leading to some "more" explanations about the "technology" and "energy". That being said, QB doesn't really let her go and insist she can call him whenever she wants, once she makes up her mind, should she is fine dying for the world that is

In the end, Kyoko believes Madoka will be the key to save Sayaka, should it is possible. Although they do not know if it is possible, they will try anyway.
That scene was quite interesting and definitely a nice development for both kyoko and madoka. However, it is also a -giant- death flag for Kyoko.

"Love me do" witch seal for Sayaka is even more of a giveaway regarding the curse entangling her, with some "subtle" hints like the maestro having a stark similar silhouette than Kamijou's.

In the end, Homura couldn't stop Kyoko, and the scene definitely has a huge impact, especially if you reconsider how Kyoko was at the first glance.
Suffice to say, it is still annoying to see QB scott free, flately explaining there was no way for kyoko to save Sayaka. And since Homura is the only MG left for this town, it will be impossible to protect the town without Madoka making a contract, which was of course QB plan all along

Ditto, streaming got pretty cruddy, probably because there were so many watching at the same time (the lag tapered off only afterwards).

All I got was audio, and so I wound up listening to dialogue, wondering what was going on, afraid of what happened to Sayaka... Through the choppy visuals, the Witch here looked pretty nasty, in a powersuit suit of armor.

And ended in a huge explosion.

-Kyouko told Madoka that isn't all of this for courage and love when she befriended Madoka.

-Kyuubee is trying to preserve the equilibrium in the closed universe I suppose.

Spoiler for Commenting on Kyubey in this episode:

Interesting. So perhaps the Kyubey/Galactus analogy may truly have something to it. Galactus devours entire worlds as part of a grander scheme to stave off complete universal collapse or entropy, IIRC. Sounds like Kyubey does something similar, only perhaps on a much smaller scale.

Incubator: "I do not really know of a way since there is no precedence."

↓（杏子死亡後） (After Kyouko's death)

ほむら「佐倉杏子にさやかを救える望みはあったの？」
Homura:"Was there any chance for Sakura Kyouko to have rescued Sayaka?"
QB「まさか。そんなのあるわけないじゃないか。」
Incubator: "No. There is definitely no way for that to have happened."

@Kazu-Kun: He isn't necessarily lying. If anything of what we know, he is NOT lying. He is being very specific. The two questions are not the same:

"Is there no way to save Sayaka?"

"Was there any chance for Sakura Kyouko to have rescued Sayaka?"

Is there a way to save Sayaka? Maybe? There is always wishes. There is also perhaps the unlimited potential he thinks Madoka has? His answer for whether SAKURA KYOUKO could save Sayaka is very blunt though. The answer is no, Kyouko has no possibility of saving Sayaka.

I definitely can see how this looks like a contradiction (and hence a lie) on face value, but if this translation is 100% accurate, then there's a possible consistency here:

Kyubey is not sure if there's a way to save Sayaka, but he knows that Kyoko can't do it.

To use an analogy, there may be a way to wipe out world poverty, but I know that I can't do it.

Gee, I wonder what happened to the "be a cool mahou shoujo for miracles and saving people" pitch ... sounds like you have to tone down your salestalk some. Burnt customer, hm?
