^We have a winner ... most likely. I went through all those pages too but I still managed to miss that thread for some reason .. And I probably wasn't the only one
That thread doesn't have highest amount of posts though for that page so I wonder what you meant by that ?

*posts in thread* It’s now no longer on page 22 of the Naruto forum. =P

This is what I meant earlier when I said it has to be a closed thread if those are thread pages.

Huge post incoming

Quote:
There is a castle,
And there are smaller castles.

The highest order of castles,
Is great with rooms.

Between floors twenty and thirty,
Among those rooms,
Is the room of funny theories.
If the "castle" is the whole forum, then "smaller castle" would be sub-forums the largest of which is the "older series" section. I'll guess the "floors" are sub-sub-forums and "rooms" are threads, and which means it should be the referring "older series" as it would be the only section on the forum with enough floors.

So between 20 and 30 means the thread should be located somewhere in the forums between and including "K-ON"[20th in series of older series sub-sub-forums] and "School Days"[30th in same order] which is probably done at a range to account for the "current series" to have some of it's sub-sub-forums moved into the section during this time the riddle was created and posted [iirc there were 8 or 9 "current" ones a month or two ago] and to account for series being retired so it could shift down in numbers and this is much more controlled than threads being posted in since only moderate could do it, so which why it's a small range. So Series forums I looked but didn't find a "room of funny theories" thread: K-On!, Kannagi, Macross, My HiME / My Otome[had some threads that might fit, but seemed far too short lived to be the answer], Negima, Ouran Host Club, Regios, and School Days.

Three different ones for Nanoha stuck out for being large and filed with theories regarding things in the show. And the "great rooms"[referring to average size of each thread] makes me think it's from the Nanoha Sub-sub-forum since it has numerous huge threads, and it's range is near the middle of 20~30th sub-sub-sub forum so that it wouldn't be shifted, there are three "great rooms" of strange theories though for Nanoha and I think it might one of these three particularly the first two since they're both rather long topics:
Magic and Technology of MGLN: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=44194
Military, Authority & Decisions In MSLN series: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=48716
Nanoha - Theories & Speculation: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=96273

Other possible threads I found in those forums that might could be called "room of funny theories" from places aside from the Nanoha section:

Maybe it doesn't have to be a closed thread
Page 26 (Between floors 20 and 30) of the General Anime thread (assuming before anyone else posts in the thread.) The thread itself is called Crazy anime theories.

I don't think it needs to be a closed thread either[none of my choices were], but the problem is I don't think it can be in a section where users can create thread at an unrestricted rate, such as they can in the general anime, suggest, music, or general chat areas, such that the riddle maker couldn't be sure what pages of the forum it was on when the riddle was posted.

Well .. How many threads fit a page ? Like 20 ? If the answer was on page 22 for example, the riddle poster gave us a range of 20-30 exactly because it could be pushed to other pages. But to get pushed out of the 30 you'd need 160 new threads which seems unlikely.

Either way, what Felix posted is probably correct and you should take that into account. If the thread is in Page XX and someone posts on it, it's now on Page 1 so the riddle can't be solved.

A sub-forum's page listing is possible since in those the new threads are restricted by that only a moderator can create the thread, while in general anime it's done freely whenever someone *wants* to make one, so 160 is quite possible.

But due to the bumping of threads issue, I am still fairly sure the "floors" are as I explained[something much more restricted], so I'll be surprised if Fenix's answer is correct .

What felix said is logical; anything that's likely to change (page views, number of visitor messages, number of posts, etc.) would not make for a suitable riddle. However, Ziziphus' riddle was somewhat outside of the box IMO and Nightwish still used it; therefore, I don't believe it has to be a closed thread based upon the previously used entries. In any case, Nightwish may have thought to just give us a hint should the page number of the thread change.

Mea Culpa. Though it was correct at the time the answer was posted.

I took a risk accepting it as worded, but figured at 20+ pages back it was unlikely to move before it was answered and even if it did you can actually find the thread between 20 and 30 if sorted by post count, a position it is even less likely to change.

Any questions?
Ugh I hate to ask on this, but it's been about week since my riddle was posted and solved, thus I was wondering when the authors receive rep mentioned here is given out?; I'd assume after being solved or time limit reached, but maybe not until the whole riddle contest over?

Also have any other riddle Authors received rep for it from nightwish?

Hopefully today. I'm afraid I've not been able to organise this contest as well as I'd have liked and as I'm the only member of staff who is organising the contest, it is really subject to my personally availability to get the stuff sorted, which is increasingly restricted by "real" work. I'd love to spend lots of time focusing on AnimeSuki related things, but with bills to pay that isn't a realistic proposition.

It will all happen at the same time, somewhere near the end of the contest.

Hmmm, riddle no. 11....

"The sticking place" made me think of sticky topics and there're 5 in the suggestions and help forum, also these forums are meant for "easing my troubled mind". Freeing a god? Maybe spoiling something? Gah. I don't really know, so I'm just gonna try these:

http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=66109

6 years and 8 months doesn't match though :S

What's with the grammatical errors?

My guess is this:
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=90855

5 and 20 paths might refer to the fact that the current series forum has 5 pages, each with 20 threads (though the last page has less) and the fact that it's looking for solutions and a sticky thread.

My guess: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=40416

I think the five and twenty paths refers to a page with five stickies and 20 threads. "Seeking the sticking place" refers to seeking for one of the stickied threads, and the description of "God" made me think of moderators.

Or it could be http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=36399

Same reasoning for the five and twenty and seek the sticking place. But the verbs, mainly "alter" and manipulate" makes me think that its talking about changing something. Also, "what am I to trust?" refers to the incorrect torrent listings and whether future ones can be trustworthy or not.
