How come? From what I hear, this article isn't exactly biased because I have a friend from Turkey who thinks Erdogan and his party's done a lot of good to its people. He isn't exactly what they would call a tyrant like Mubarak and Gheddafi.

While the macroview of the economy may seem nice, he's been destroying the agricultural base of Turkey without compensating them with enough jobs in the developing parts of the economy. He's done "good" by not ruining things for the rural areas, but this is not going to last long with what Erdoğan has been pursuing.

Plus, I support CHP, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's party.

It's funny how following these macro-economic policies always has a negative effect on agriculture. Either someone isn't doing it right or it's a simple case where finance and agriculture don't go hand in hand. I will discuss this with my friend and see where he stands.

In what may be more appropriate to put in "News of the Silly", I watched a fair amount of the US Republican presidential hopeful discussion tonight. Lets just say "creating a narrative unconstrained by facts" came to mind frequently. I'd compare it to..... oh, saying Roosevelt was responsible for the results of the Hoover administration disaster (1929 meltdown and the after effects). Oh wait, they think we need MORE 1890s-type robber barony to fix the country.

No matter who takes the presidency, I get the feeling it'll just be the same story over again: unemployment, taxes, unrealistic college and mortgage fees, fail foreign policies, what have you. I keep wondering if it even matters anymore.
