On actual dating: I just hang out with those I was going out with. You can have the occasional special stuff, but one should try to just have fun with everyday life if a relationship is to last long.

I'll take my chances against a knife, thank you. I at least know how to defend against and disarm those. That pear scares the shit outta me.

'Not dating' would be a pretty appropriate answer considering the thread.

'It's a medieval torture device' would be more accurate, though.

Pear of Agony/Anguish.

Leaving aside our increasingly violent escalation, how often do you fight (supposing you're in a relation)? Just wondering how the people of this forum goes through things

I would say about once every two or three months for the heated discussions with raised voices. The times when she gets to the face slaps and punches, maybe twice a year.

Only when we're both pissed off enough to really jab at each other until one of us snaps, which has happened a couple of times recently since she and I have both been a teensy bit stressed. We're pretty quick to make up, though, since we can't bear staying mad at each other.

Uhm..... how often?

MAYBE once a year? It honestly depends... like when I was making him quit smoking/found out he was sneaking cigs, that was the first time we'd really fought in probably a couple of years... had a nasty spat over that, couple days later all was re-negotiated and it's been fine ever since.
Now mind you, when we were first together, we'd spat probably every month, but he'd just recently left a terribly abusive wife, and I'd grown up in a home where my folks threw stuff at one another prettymuch weekly, so neither of us really had the best idea what a normal/healthy relationship was. We kind of figured out what we wanted and said "ok I don't like X, so let's not do that".

Our big fights always ended up in 1 of 3 things:
1: He'd leave and take a walk to cool off (ensuring the door slammed mightily on his way out!)
2: *I* would leave, see above
3: He would throw something at the nearest wall (sometimes a cell phone, or a dish, whatever). This was the first thing to stop, LOL

We would never lay a hand on one another during a fight, because that's just not right; his ex literally beat him regularly, till he left her, and I grew up getting my arse beat by my mother, and left my ex husband after ONE time of him getting a bit violent and bruising my arms. I told my hubby if he ever hit me, I would kill him. He doesn't hit women... so... it's a moot point.

I troll my fiancee constantly, but we almost never actually fight. The last time I remember having a serious argument with her was before we were really officially together.

About once every three months. And too the point if stepping outside so the whole nieghborhood could hear us and the MPs were called!
But never once have either of us laid a hand on the other! It's just verbal and mostly just blowing off steam due to some bill or something.
Making up IS the FUN part though!
