But without any Index/Railgun anime this year, will this last till next year?

I mean there are only:
Railgun SS1 (half done, but people don't seem to care about it much),
Railgun SS2 (not completly released yet, 3 BlueRays left),
Kanzaki SS (saint vs valkyrie, sounds cool),
Styil SS (no raws?),
Gunha SS (anticipated, but translators seem to ignore it, even though it's short),
Uiharu SS (does not even have a category on bakatsuki).
(Mars SS - not sure if this is the same as Uiharu SS and no one ever gave a proper answer)

And the hype with new LN novel usually starts week before release with spoilers and ends about a week after complete summary. After that it is just occasional talk when new parts are translated.

I am worried that this forum will very soon end up like Shana forums, with only the most stubborn people lurking around.

Which reminds me, I have not been hearing if it was canon, any pointers?

Although Kamachi likes it I don't see that as a confirmation.

Well the most important thing is whether it contradicts any known factual information from the Main and Side Stories written by Kamachi. If not then I see no harm in accepting it as canon until proven otherwise.

I don't understand, how does Gunha meeting/fighting Ollerus contradicts his fight with Mikoto

? Why do you think he hasn't met Mikoto yet?

Are you trying to say that the Mikoto vs Gunha fight in the SS occurred almost the same dates Gunha fights Ollerus?

If that's what you mean then there will be some contradictions indeed...

SS takes place slightly before Therestina vs. Mikoto.
