it has to be Daru! the hair color, the time they were shown together, the comment by Mayuri etc

a bit sad to hear that Okabe and Kurisu become real enemies in the future

Well, she said they were dead in 2036, not they both died in 2036..... If you die in 2034, you're still dead in 2036

After watching this episode, it reminded me of some of the earlier transactions with John Titor. Didn't the first messages from John Titor appear in the year 2000? Suzuha did not arrive in this version until 2010, and she claimed it was not her who wrote those messages in 2000.

It would seem strange for another person to also claim to be John Titor and write about time travel, so logically, it would seem like it was Suzuha as well from back then. That would probably mean that this current Suzuha traveled further into the past at some point in the future.

If it is true that Suzuha travels back to the past, and the time machine does not travel to the future, then Suzuha could have stayed back in 1975 until the present. Hence, I would expect to see an older version of Suzuha come present the IBN5000 very soon.

Well, Okabe did say Titor posted message in 2000 but after he sent the first d-mail (the one about Kurisu), suddenly the fact that Titor was there in 2000 was wiped out and instead, Titor traveled in 2010.

Suzuha said she is John Titor and that she never went to 2000 wich mean that Okabe changed the past. But how a D-Mail about Kurisu death could change that ???

The year 2010 is clearly writed on the badge Suzuha has, would that badge have changed ?

That's exactly right; you'll remember that Okarin had a whole shelf of books about Titor from 2000, but they vanished and Daru had never heard of them. In that world line, Suzu went back to 2000, but the change in world line was, apparently, enough that she came to 2010 instead. Maybe it's because Kurisu surviving 2010 allowed her to build the time-leap machine, and it's her involvement with that that made 2010 a place where Suzu felt she should jump back to?

...complex stuff; I can't help thinking that the gamers are way ahead of us anime watchers on this especially since the game would have the much greater volume of explicatory text.

But there is something strange : Suzu said that SERN builded his own time machine with the data of Okabe but, Okabe made it thanks to Kurisu. In the original timeline, Kurisu die then, how could SERN make a time machine without Okabe data ?

And then, how could Suzu come in 2000 ?

SERN never completed it. My theory is that the original timeline (the world line where the first episode took place till Okabe sent the first dmail) had already a divergence of 1.0000 or greater. In this timeline SERN never succeeded in establishing their dystopian dictatorship, and this is because Kurisu died in 2010 and thus never contributed with her time travel knowledge to SERN.

First post by the way, hello everyone

Do recall, Kurisu had theories about how a time machine could be built if I remember correctly; or at least, she had theories on how time travel overall would work, if it was possible. Even if she was dead, all it would take was for those theories to end up in SERN's hands, and they could test the rest of it all on their own without Okabe's data.

Also, do we know that Suzuha was the same John Titor that appeared in 2000? It could have been someone else who did it, and in another timeline she just assumed the name for 2010 because of the connection to her father.

If it wasn't her, then the other person never made a time trip at all in the new timeline (or didn't post messages about that at least). But it's unlikely because Suzuha is the only one with a time machine except SERN and why would SERN use that nick name ?

I'm pretty sure it was Suzu as well in 2000 (in the timeline before the first d-mail). She was probably searching for her father just like this time wich make me think there is something in 2000 she would think usefull. The questions are : what is it and why is it now in 2010 instead of 2000 ?

It's not something we should probably worry about too much. The whole idea of John Titor being a time traveler who visited the year 2000 is a true story, and the people who wrote Steins;Gate probably used his story as a way of introducing the world lines and the character of Suzuha.

Well for whatever reason, the world line shifted when Okabe texted Kurisu is dead, and during this shift, John Titor visited a different time. There should be an explainable reason for this.

I'm just saying, I don't think the whole thing about John Titor visiting in 2000 and having it switched to 2010 is a very big deal in-story; it's just a major change to show that Okarin changed something very important, and only he remembers it. Like Reckoner said, the bigger question is why Okarin's random text saved Kurisu's life in the original timeline.

True, why a text that's not even sent to someone who could you know Kurisu was able to change the world to this extent ?

....

unless Daru is not who we think he is.
