Capturing the Huckebein then becomes pivotal, because if they instead kill them first, that only makes treating other Eclipse-infectees that much harder--they can just point out that they didn't do so with the Huckebein; they only hunted them down and put them down like rabid animals! (which they are, basically, but the point remains the same). If they did capture and cure the Huckebein, then the TSAB can prove to others they don't have to kill or die because they have the Eclipse. The Huckebein, and by extension Touma, have to end positively for the Bureau if they want an easy time of things down the road. And sadly, it ain't gonna be easy and it's gonna come off as idealistic and naive.

Hmm, the possibility is there. It depends on the writing style of the writers though - do they plan all the plots to the tiny detail from the very beginning or just make them up as the story goes on *cough*Takahashi Rumiko*cough*? Then again they could just dodge the risk of spoiler by stating them as "participants of the tournament". Then again, is the Eaglet group based on Mid? It's possible she never even heard of such tournament
I'm more interested in whether those two would contribute to the plot or just namedropped to show a sense of continuity (there were afterall people who once speculated that each manga is a separate continuity )

For the record, I believe the Hucks deserve a chance at redemption as well--after all, the Wolkenritter got their chance as well, and I'm sure their rap sheet is much, much more impressive than the Huckebein Family's. I'm just not discounting the other reasons why the Bureau needs to capture and not kill them.

The Numbers were allowed to reform despite all their bad deeds, a few of them even having killed. The fact that they didn't know any better worked as a mitigating factor, the same way being forced to kill to live would be a mitigating factor for the Hucks. Or are you saying that they should be charged for not killing themselves?
Like I said, they at least deserve a chance to reform after the virus no longer becomes an issue. If they still want to keep killing after wards, then they should get the book thrown at them.

Matter of opinion--I find the Huckebein likeable well enough. Others didn't find previous characters very likeable when they first appeared, even among the Wolkenritter.

I didn`t like the Numbers in StrikerS because Quattro was pretty much the only I could see and I hated her. |

I'm tossing in my coins on the "Hucks deserve redemption just as much as anyone who got redemption before" hat.
Besides, they have the loli. Any side that has the loli gets a shot at redemption. Precia had loli --> got a shot at redemption --> rejected it. Wolkies had loli --> got a shot at redemption --> fully redeemed. Numbers had loli --> got a shot at redemption. --> some got redeemed, those who didn't chose not to. Graham --> didn't have loli --> got 'urged' to step down. Regius --> didn't have loli --> died Brains --> didn't have loli --> died Hooh? You do realize that this means you can prove they are, right? Well? Let's see your proof then. |
