I think you'd love Kara no Kyoukai. It has dark stories with unpleasant themes, a complex plot, gruesome violence and gore, and a very tough and cool protagonist. Highly recommended.

Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari - horror, trippy, and episodic. the good guys "win". Sure they win by killing, but not sure you would like that even

Hellsing, just a vampire story whos takes on a girl as his like side kick, its pretty dam gorey and worth a watch.

Seconding Mnemosyne for a gruesome, goresome experience. It's also a pretty interesting show, I think.

The recent Deadman Wonderland had a lot of absolutely horrible gore scenes as well, but of course some of it was censored for television, so you might want to hold on for a bit on that one.

Oh, and check out Kurozuka. It has lots of blood, looks gorgeous and is underrated as hell, in my opinion.

Check out the already recommended Shigurui at your own risk... it's all kinds of messed up, but it is a solid show.
