On the software news, Age Soft is restarting their Muv Luv momentum. A special fan disc game called Muv Luv supplement will be released on December 17th this year. The main selling point of this disc is a short aftermath scenario based on Sumika' ending. If you played the original Muv Luv you'll know why Sumika's scenario desperately needs a supplement. LOL.

The biggest news however, is Muv Luv Alternative's scheduled release on April 2005.

Good news on Muv Luv however...pleased to hear that the Supplement they were hinting at a month or two back is going to get released.

so much for yoshida's "it'll definitely be released within 2004". notice how that one faq section on the alternative page was removed.
a lot of people are really angry about a 2005 release date in addition to there being another fan disc.

Probably not. I mean KGNE was freakin awsome. Best Romantic type anime out there. But I guess thats just my opinion

Heh... Watched it. I have to say, if you are unfamiliar with old fashion Super Robot anime, you'll be wondering what's going on.

But IMO this was hilarious! It's like they took a character from a mecha anime and stuffed it in the Kiminozo setting.

On a side note, seems like Haruka appears next ep?

I might have to drop it if I don't know wtf is going on.

I heard from a friend who watched the raw that it was just comedy and fanservice, and that it was stupid. Well, the guy looks like a hamhead anyway.

Heh, and here I was hoping we'd get MuvLuv animated... but that's a pure pipe dream.

Well the main character of Akane Maniax, Gouda Jouji (voiced by Seki Tomakazu), is supposed to be a parody of the main character from G Gundam (same voice actor) so go figure... I was surprised by the mecha appearence, but I guess that's only in Gouda's daydream...

MuvLuv Extra is high school romance drama comedy. In a gist, a young girl named Meiya comes in to Takeru Shirogane's life, proclaims to be his bride, and literally rearranges his world. Her main opposition is Takeru's childhood friend, Sumika Kagami.

Following the established Age-Soft staples, they're complete opposites. Meiya is graceful, level-headed, but oh so painfully pure. She's the "Haruka" of the story.

Sumika is spirited, a hot head, but she knows Takeru longer than anyone else. I would consider her the "Mitsuki" archetype

One day Takeru wakes up in ruined world. At first he thinks everything is a dream, but later on he finds out his nightmare is real. It later revealed that he's dimensional anomaly that wasn't supposed to exist in this ruined world. He somehow manifested himself in the ruin world. Not only that, he also has portions of memories from the other worlds. This leads to intersting situations when he is reintruduced to the other female characters. He knows them.. but at the same time he doesn't...

And so he begins his new life. The world is being invaded by aliens. More than 90% of humanity have been wiped out. Sumika is no where to be found, and he enlisted into the 207th platoon despite having no military background whatsoever. Amidst the confusion he strives to justify his existance. Over time he begans to accept his new life, he redefines his priorities, finds solace and love from a fellow team member among the death and destruction.... but images of the old world and Sumika keeps coming back to haunt him...

What you said here is interesting. From first impressions alone and by the way the characters are portrayed, I figured the comparison would be the other way around.

It's like Meiya and Sumika are both "dark" and "light" in MuvLuv as much as Mitsuki and Haruka are "dark" and "light" in KGNE. And after hearing your comparison, they could be easily seen as "present" and "past" characters as much as Mitsuki and Haruka are.

Like I said, it's complex premise built upon on a simple one, but Takeru of the ruined world does possess knowledge of MuvLuv Extra.

I'm more referring to their personalities. Their circumstances are much harder to pidgeon hole as it reverses several times unlike Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.

i was hoping for a fully animated alternative movie (that didnt recycle animation from the unlimited opening) since they made such a big deal about adding animated scenes in alternative. better than nothing i suppose.
