Ending was such a blast! Enjoy every second of it, especially those KyoukoxAyano moments.
A shame the production was a bit cheap sometimes, especially after they resolve Chitose's problem. This scene in the manga had a bit more impact. But that's the only complain I can make. I understand if people think they went too far with Akari, but that's not as if her friends didn't like her in my opinion... They don't do the bast job at showing it maybe ^^'. I'll seriously miss this serie. Next thing will be to buy the manga!

Yuru Yuri 12 - Akari Akaza Saves the Universe
Any episode that starts with a Mirakurun sequence instantly grabs my attention. It's no Madoka, and it has no designs on being so. That's what makes it so great. I want to see a full episode of that. Ideally, a finale should encapsulate the essence of the events that preceded it, and I feel this did a fine job of such. Every gag returned in full force, with just the right amount of the bonds of friendship and the universe hating Akari. (Even if her job was usurped by Mari). One gets the feeling Chinachu was angry that Chitose makes a far better assault-kisser than she could ever hope to be. Kyoko's bizarre thought process, all the character interactions we've come to know, all out in full force. Yuru Yuri made itself a star this season, through the right mixture of fourth wall breaking gags, friendship in spite of adversity, and hypercondensed lesbianism. Chitose's rampage will satisfy me for at least a fortnight. |

Truly this series was the darkhorse, runaway star of the season for me. It literally has everything that could be desired. Excellent comedy. Check. Yuri. Check. Explosions?! Check. Nishigaki-sensei is such a terrorist.
And I'd like to take this opportunity to honor the memory of Akaza Akari. She may have had an inglorious end, but I shall always remember her for the great sacrfice she made for the sake of copious amounts of yuri. If you think about it, maybe she would have wanted it this way too.

The first explosion was funny in a WHAT-DID-YOU-THINK-WAS-GOING-TO-HAPPEN kind of way. I love that the teacher can build all sorts of fancy gadgets, but hasn't figured out that making nitroglycerin a primary ingredient in all of your experiments might have something to do with their failures.
We get the return of the I-can't-get-married-anymore Akari face, but the best reaction was poor Ayano. Speaking of Ayano... Spoiler for mfw:
If this show was just 22 minutes of her facial expressions, I would still have watched all 12 episodes. I just realized that this is the first show in the "cute girls doing cute things" genre that I've actually made it all the way through. I almost dropped it after the beach episode, but they really rallied with the comedy in the second half. Also, Mirakurun is ON THE MOON. Because why the hell not. I would totally watch a Mirakurun OAV lampooning magical girl tropes, but I know too many have already taken shots at that target. |

Pretty entertaining overall show for me. Kinda sad for Akarin, they should have given her time to shine, at least in the last episode. Well, she did kinda get everyones attention in the end, but not what I had in mind...
I was hoping for some official forming couples, but it was already cleared when the half of the show passed that there won`t be any.

Poor, poor Akari. Even the final episode didn't spare her. Her only job was stolen by Mari, she rolled off a mountain in a barrel (and of course, no one noticed her absence), got yuraped again, and finally got blown up... thus ended the life of Akarin. She shall forever be remembered for about 10 seconds by her friends.
Aside from Akari, the star of the episode was Chitose. They should feed her chocolate more often, I say. Only Sakurako and Hiwamari escaped her rampage, which is a shame as I would have loved to see the reaction of the other if one of them got kissed. They should have had Akari come back late and react to the apparent slaughter instead (that shot of all the girls covered in blood and looking completely dumbfounded was gold - Yui had a "dear god, what did I just do?" face). The animal (and tomato) pajamas were insanely cute. I'm really glad Kyoko is back to her usual self, the series wouldn't be the same without her. I never thought this show would be so good. I basically picked up because it had pseudo-yuri, and I stayed for the comedy and characters. I'm dying for a second season now.
