You mean "does"? Or are you implying that it's humor doesn't appeal to otakus? The way you wrote it is very ambiguous and normally I would just assume you mean "does" but then your last sentence wouldn't quite make sense then.

I assume that the Mio vs. Tachibana confrontation is all but inevitable.

In any case if that doesn't happen, if the final gesture to Mio at the end of the episode doesn't put a wide smile on your face...

Not sure if this was posted yet, but as expected from NicoNico mashing Nichijou with DDRX2's Valkyrie Dimension (final boss):

Hmm, I wasn't paying attention to my english when I wrote it. Guess it got a little messed up. What I mean is:

The humour in Nichijou is an acquired taste. The show was not a big sales hit. The show may not appeal to enough otaku, in the end it is a small customer base.

However, you don't need any anime knowledge to enjoy Nichijou. Nor does it contain any content that would freak out the censors. So the show is not restricted to otaku audiences. By airing it at prime time, like Tokyo MX is going to do, Nichijou can reach a wider audience. I can see it become a cult hit for example with college crowds.

This move could have been planned from the start. K-on also managed to enter day time programming after late night airing, Nichijou may follow the same route.

Ch-Chan Mio?!!

Another great episode.
I've grown quite fond of this show and it's characters which I didn't think I would after the first 5 or so eps, will be sad to see it finish.

Inorite. They all needed a big group hug, since Mio was basically in tears of happiness.

Also, it's ending tomorrow!!! I literally invite all of you to my place to have a big manly cry when it's all over.

Hmm... Not the season closure I was hoping for. IMO I felt ep 13 had done a better job with closing the 1st cour of the series. Anyway still a great ep though.

If they switched ep 25 and 26 it would've been a blast. Though I had more laughs in during the consecutive chain of miraculous unintentional saves. I lol'd the hardest when the ants got spared.

Review time:

Spoiler for review:

As much as I'd beg for more of Nichijou, I'd still want them to do a new project. However with this ending and no announcement in sight, it kinda disappoints me.

Maybe it's because I watched it at midnight, the closest I'll get to any time the shows air in Japan while still being in my own time zone, that lent the show a mystical quality. The environment one watches something in can have an effect. It made the show feel like a reminiscence of the day's previous events, I suppose.

How to have a surprise party for someone who wasn't technically born is an interesting theory to pursue, one far beyond Nichijou's capabilities, though one it answers with a simple "Nano is Nano." That's all Yuuko needs. (Tonight's episode is brought to you by The Smashing Pumpkins. And now back to our show.)

Looking at the fabric of the universe, Yuuko is the one things happen to, but Nano is the one things happen for. I get the feeling that if Sakamoto weighed his options a bit more carefully, he'd realize that Nano respects him and treats him as a fellow member of the household. If there was a reason to stay at Shinonome over Nakamura, she'd be the weight that tips the scale in favor.

Last episode resolved the schoolgirl side, this one resolves the Shinonome Lab side. (Principal Shinonome?) For a certain value of "resolves", but I don't mean that as an insult. This is a rich universe, one that stretches far beyond the boundaries of the screen. Details added by KyoAni and by the author paint a vast world, one ripe for future potential.

A veritable theater of the absurd, but one that "clicked" for me. I know what makes shows click, and they often have a certain unifying factor. I believe this one was there. I have ideas on how to further extrapolate this universe.

Characters.
Concepts.
Comedy.

All abundant in splendid form.
Good job, KyoAni.
Good job, Nichijou.
As it was with Sasahara, a man as flowery as myself, so shall I close things off with a haiku.

One-way feelings-c

Guessed that's it then. Thanks for the ride.

And...Principal Shinonome?

Pretty heartwarming episode overall because the school girl trio accepted who Nano is pretty much. I felt this didn't felt like a finale to me because I felt like there's going to be more mysteries to solve especially at the Principal Shinonome part

Couldn't be happier with the way in ended.

I had expected a finale parodying the "epic" in anime, something like the previous episode or the airship kingdom intrigues but I realized this one is much more true to the nature (and title) of the show. Episode 25 was basically the culmination and taking the finale Up to Eleven in terms of pacing would probably not have been the best way to end it.

Instead, there were plenty of simple, somewhat mundane, yet so funny moments resembling those from the start of the show. And indeed, I felt quite nostalgic towards the end of the episode; I'm gonna miss Hakase, Yukko, Nano, Mai and the rest of the gang so very much. The return of rock, paper, scissors put a huge smile on my face and the resolution of the screw on Nano-chan's back problem also caught me by surprise (but I loved that part too).

The finale was a great way to solidify my love for the characters and the show.

"Principal Shinonome"... I guess that is how Hakase got Nano into the school so easily.

Despite what some may say, to me KyoAni did an amazing job of Nichijou. It isn't any less interesting than the other KyoAni works. A simple, yet memorable ending for a great series.

Any future seasons would be welcomed, but perhaps it might be slightly unlikely.

Best series for a long time, in my opinion. Not just because it is almost 100% true to the original material, but the voice acting makes it stand out. It is always hard to animate a manga screen by screen, but KyoAni did actually managed that. Everything that was in the manga was brought to life. There was some minor changes but overall it was a beautifully done, especially the chapters with changing art was nicely adopted.
Great thing about this show is that it is accessible for everyone, unlike other shows that are specifically targeted at certain market.

A little surprised that Taichi Ishidate instead of Ishihara directed the final episode. For an action specialist though, Ishidate does some really nice slice-of-life episodes in Nichijou(ironically, his K-On!! stuff in my opinion wasn't great) and this one is no exception. Of particular note is that Keiichi Arawi, the mangaka wrote this final episode himself, and I think he just wanted to thank the audience for watching, hence this sentimental affair.

I like how they brought the rock-paper-scissors gag back again one last time. The pumpkin gag was typical Nichijou in sheer zaniness.

If I have something to be disappointed in, it would be that we never get to see Nano going to Nakamura's house. I expect lots of yuri-subtext. Alas.

Wait, does that mean The Principal is related to The Professor in someway?
