Anything new? I wish there was a website for my "style", but it's not motiviating to go through millions of, in my opinion, shitty stuff , just to find a decent series, well, nevermind on that, haha.

I have no idea what you have seen or what suggestions you got, but if you are looking for dark/sad anime these are my tips:
Elfen Lied My Hime Ga-Rei Zero I have no idea how to explain the shows without spoiler it for you tho. All I can say is that Mai Hime starts really really slow, actually I almost dropped it after 10 episodes. But thanks to a certain review I continued watching. It becomes dark and sad and is one of my favorites today. Highly recommended.

I actually have a copy of Ergo Proxy subbed by Shinsen-Subs on my computer. You can probably find a torrent for it on the web.
I recommend that, and these as well... Gantz - You never know who's gonna die next. It's pretty dark most of the time, and has a really sad ending, in my opinion. Differs a lot from the manga, but I think that's because it had big time constraints. The last arc is technically a filler arc, but oh wel. Black Lagoon - Okay, it's not THAT dark, per se, but has some great characters and deals with underground crime organizations. Has plenty of dark moments of moral despair, even if it's not technically a dark anime.

It is in no way "new", but Now and then, here and there (Ima, Soko ni Iru Boku) is a great series in my opinion; it's about kids and war. I don't really know if it qualifies as "dark" as there are some funny/silly moments, but it sure has some depressing/disturbing moments also.
The art style might be a little more on the childish/light side, but the story really isn't. If you haven't seen it yet, I'd suggest giving it a try. |

Hmmm.... How about Kuroshitsuji? It's fantasy/supernatural/mystery with demons set in 18th century England. It has dark moments, some lighter episodes with humor and everything else in between.
You've probably seen Hellsing... Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ might be a great choice too. Psychological anime with assassins.

Well, I'd start with Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and don't let the character designs fool you. For a darkish comedy, you can try Yondemasu-yo Azazel-san.
One thing you might try is viewing a year's worth of shows at AniDB. Here are all the shows that began since January 1st.

And, if you clicked on the above link, you'd no doubt notice the arresting image in the background frame on the right. She's Rune-Balot from Mardock Scramble, a trilogy of movies, the first of which is available on Blu-ray and DVD, while the second is currently screening in Japanese cinemas. |
