Welcome to the discussion thread for the One Piece: New World arc starting from episode 517. Please remember this is an anime-only thread so no discussion or reference to future events from the manga are allowed.

Since Funimation have licensed One Piece, AnimeSuki will not list torrents for it. In addition, the following posts are not allowed:

Hmm. I wonder about topic title as New World consists of great many arcs like East Blue and Grand Line did. Perhaps "Certain Island" (you know, the island where they will go next) arc would be more apt?

Or maybe I'm just being too picky.

^Actually, I kind of intended to make the current thread title a "placeholder" of sorts until the next big storyline begins, then I'd ask a mod to alter it to properly reflect the current arc. So for now, let's just leave this as the "New World" arc, yeah?

Well, we do know where they want to go next as far back as the Sabody arc...

Anyway, for your information, English Shonen Jump is using "New World" as the arc title as well.

True, but I got warned by another mod for merely mentioned it due to a certain anime only member , so I agree with marvelB's take on this.

It is just good to be able to see the crew back together again. Although, I wonder if they will show them meet up all at once, or will certain crew members meet up and form groups, go on adventures, and finally meet up?

It has been too long since the crew was together. One Piece did not feel as much like One Piece without them.

After the timeskip, the crew has officially spent more time apart than they have together, which is rather funny considering their unity.

It is very hard to find good friends. When you do, it just clicks naturally. You can be closer to that person than to those you know your whole life. Life just naturally happens that way.

But yeah, what is the official time that Luffy started out in barrel and currently training with Haki? Was it 6 months or 1 year?

I don't think an exact length of time has been given, but it's been confirmed the entire anime up to episode 516 has taken place within the span of a year. So several months would be an approximate guess.

I might be the only fan that feels like Rorschach every time I think about the timeskip concept.

"We Go" was great. Nice to see all of the crew members in their new looks. I loled when the guy with worst sense of direction made it back first.

maybe that's changed. maybe EVERYTHING has changed.

also, i cant wait to see them all together on the Sunny and getting their fight on.

This episode was awesome! Sanji and Usopp had amazing entrances lol.

Also sounds like Sanji's VA is doing the fake Luffy's voice.

Ah "We Go" was simply awesome. It might just be me but I don't hear many anime OP's like this one anymore.~

Anyway, for those who are disappointed about the Strawhats not being together yet, you won't have to wait too long for them to group together as this is an incredibly short arc. It was only 5 chapters long in the manga I believe.

I also find it amusing how the seiyuus of the Strawhats are also voicing the Fake Strawhats.

And no character specific eyecatches this time eh? Ah well.

The anime did something I liked very much, which Oda didn't do: it showed all members in a single episode (even if two weren't shown completely) and Zoro was the second one to be shown (Zoro was the second member to join the crew so it's only right dangit)

We Go was really good, liked it but it will never replace We Are in my heart.
As always...non manga readers should never see the openings in One Piece because they spoil SO MUCH it's ridiculous. One of the major spoils in the opening was the Strawhats new looks (they should have saved the opening for next episode and if they really wanted to show We Go then show it over a flashback or something)

The Fakehats still kill me everytime I see them! But wasn't Fake-Nami shorter in the manga?

Finally...very disappointed that there are no new eyecatches but the intermission with the shadows running was fun too (though it will get repetitive fast)

Great episode,was a bit more of a teaser to me since i don't like the fake strawhats "arc".
