Yes, To Heart is more popular that Kizuato as it seems. Although personally I like White Album better. Yuki Morikawa is my idol!

You only do that because you choose to. Don't give me such an excuse. I am a full time college student and I have a full time job as well. I have plenty of money to buy games instead of stealing them, and I pay my tuition without borrowing money from a bank. Now, it's very difficult to do it this way, but it's not difficult to get a part time job to buy a couple of ero games. You just choose not to work. That's fine, but it doesn't justify the illegal downloading of ero games.

Thats true, Its realy up to you to find that extra bit of money. Get a part time job, go rob a bank, its better then just sitting on your ass and just whining that "I don't get enough maney" and also its up to time managment. Anyone can take a parttime and study at the same time you know

Robbing a bank is too risky so getting a job is the much better choice. That way you won't be complaining on how broke you are and jobs can be pretty....fun sometimes. On a postive note I'm surprised(In a good way) my old topic is still going.

That's not exactly true, but that's really off-topic. I'm still in HS and I have zero time to be part time working, because of our school system which is really study-focused. I admit I have 3 hours of free time during my studies, homework and sleep. And that's it. Just enough to watch an anime episode or play a game, take a shower, eat dinner and watch/read the news. Not everyone lives in the US where you can have As just like that and work part-time. One of my lame classmates was there for a year and he practically became a school hero (despite being bullied for being a foreigner).

These games are really cheap anyway. Takes me 5-6 hours to download them. Right now I'm playing a downloaded game called Onegai Papa! (and shut up you moralists, like you haven't downloaded an illegal thing in the world - ur fucken avatars are illegal)

Ahh, the typical excuse from the pirate book.

"Everyone has downloaded something illegal once in their lifetime, so it's my right to pirate these games!"

Note that you said that they are cheap to you, so why not buy them, eh? But I take it that was a typo and that you meant that they weren't cheap.
You should buy these games.
And so we get to the next excuse from the pirate book!

"They are too expensive, so I have the right to download them!"

Yeah, sure. Console games cost even more than $50. Yet people don't find that expensive.
Then we argue about how much work has gone into the games, and then we get the next rule.

"The games are low quality, so their price isn't fair, so I have the right to download them! This will cause the companies to see that their prices are too high, and they will lower it. So I'm actually doing them a favor."

It's the other way around, actually. Prices are lowered if a game sells really well, or if there isn't much demand for it, and gets thrown in the bargain bin. Next, prices will go up because else they wouldn't generate enough income.

Next the pirate book goes on about how the people who make the games are bastards, goes on and on about I-Tunes, how piracy isn't bad in general, etc.

Long live double standards.

Play either kana: imoto or crescendo, then comment on it.
Seriously, you have a misconception about a lot of these games. Unfortunatly, most of the ones you have the misconception about don't get translated...

Seriously though, speaking from my 8 years of H-gaming (don't ask me how I get them prior to boardband becoming the standard.)

A lot of those games sucks and not worth paying the inflated price for them.

You should see how many of those games are out in a month and how many publishers have come and go over the ages.

But I believe in paying the dues to the publisher if you find the soft to your liking.

As an exmaple, I've bought Fifth Aile from Rune and Jinkou Shojo 2 from Illusion.

One way to curb piracy is to price a piece of software according to the economics of the country it's being sold in. If it's price the exact MSRP in US and Japan, just converted to the local currency, it's going to be too damn expensive (except in EU where you can afford it because your currency just owns). Of course pricing according to local economics can only be afforded if there's a good distribution system, and most software companies don't realize their software is reaching places they never intended to market to in the first place.

My colleague's brother ordered something original...and it got confiscating by customs because it was deemed pornographic. Pirates, however, are easily available because of the extensive black market. But rather than support that black market by purchasing a pirate, one can just download it. The former is not supporting the original creators. But at least the latter option is not supporting the profiteering thieves.

That was My most recent favorite was Come See Me Tonight, because it's consensual and monogamous.

I understand where you're coming from here. I know that many schools in Japan don't allow their students to work part time, even if they want to. My previous post was about college students, not high school. College students can get part time jobs, that's for sure. As for high school students, keep in mind that these games are intended to be sold only to people who are 18 or older. I graduated from high school when I was 17, but I it depends on your birthday. Many people are 18. Any high school student can get a part time summer job, so I think that the maximum amount of time that you could be 18+ and in high school would be about 9 months. So even the situation you present only applies to some people and only for a very limited amount of time. If you worked in the summer you could have plenty of money for ero games and anime during your senior year of high school. Again, it comes down to what you deem as important. If anime and anime style games are important to you, then you will buy and enjoy the legit games. If you simply don't care that much and want to get something for nothing, reguardless of the concequences, then you pirate. Really, it always boils down to that in the end.

So, care to give a few valid arguments to back up that statement? And if you think ero-games like Kana - Little Sister and Crescendo are all about the sex, you are ignorant about this topic. Don't throw out statements about things you don't know anything about.

Kana - Little Sister and Crescendo are my favorite English games, for their great stories (IMO). Since my Japanese is next to non-existant, my favorite Japanese ero-games are mostly Studio E-go games, which usually have more gameplay than and fairly easy to understand stories, compared to the interactive novels. Games like the Men at Work series, Vagrants, My Fair Angel and a few others.

*laugh* And here I made my previous post to CLARIFY that I have NO intention of excusing myself of pirating ANYTHING. I do pirate... and so do you guys. We know we're all closet downloaders/pirates. THAT was the point of my post.

And your reply was a mixture of feeling you should say something really noble to all other people, thus becoming the downloading Christ himself, punishing all other pirates and not being able to read a board message properly.
Quote:

... and you actually mistook the joke for a serious statement. Just when I thought a leecher can't get any dumber.

I agree with bishounen_blue. If YOU really want to buy games, there's always a way you could buy those. I could too, probably. <--- Flame bait. So go ahead and take your best shot. Yet I won't make any excuses that I download. Wait... I'll say something else: There's actually a japanese campaign going on the internet after the whole Winny bubble burst. "We ALL download," is their main slogan. And they're right.

(btw, I'm 18 and will be in HS for something less than two years)

You did excuse yourself in the end, in stating that everyone downloads. That's an excuse, and one used by a lot of pirates. You're even saying the same thing further in your post.

And no matter what you say, just because you say everyone does it (true or not), that still doesn't give you the right to do it. Two wrongs don't make a right.

It's all thanks to people like you that localization companies like Peach Princess are having a tough time. I'm sure you're proud of yourself.
