I used to think that what she paid is getting back her full memory, now I am not sure with the way Ken set it up, (too easy with no consequence) being a future human sacrifice is too much for a shonen story I think, another possible guess is Asuna might loss her immortalness.

I am actually not that far off in my guess, but now my guess is this will NOT be how Negima will end, I will expect a change of equations with the next coming arc which will solve the problem. plenty of substitutes are available I think.

upon graduation, Asuna will be sealed at the Grave Master's temple as foundation for the new Magic World, since the personalty of "Asuna" is something new with only 10 years of memory, it is expected after a hundred year of sleep the personalty of "Asuna" will disappear with only the personalty of the twilight princess left.

the duel ended in a draw with a Negi sneeze which turns both Asuna and Eva totally naked.

The problem with that: people want something fresh for an ending.

Going the "Negi and Asuna reunite after a 100 years" route is pretty much a repeat of the "Keitaro/Naru" route.

A fresher approach would be to have Negi end up with someone else, then have the ancestor of Negi and his bride (who says Chao is an only child) fall for Asuna, continuing her attraction with those people of the Springfield bloodline

Patterns are boring, anyway. This would definitely form into a pattern in Ken's mangas and therefore become predictable.

So I'm supporting Honya-kun's hypothesis on this take.

It really depends on whether or not what has transpired has still kept us on Chao's timeline. We saw she had some kind of odd ME marks through her body which would kind of imply that we're still in a timeline where she exists. Since she is supposed to be Negi's descendent the only options are really

for anyone who repost only a partial of my post without linking, all I am going to say, I do update and correct my post when needed, I also give my own opinions in a full article, I can't be responsible for the validity / interpretation of the info I provided beyond that. I used the word "sacrifice" when there is none in the original spoiler, but I think I got the implication right, (as an English translation for the Japanese "human tower".) but it should not be something useless, but something necessary, something only Asuna can do, because of who she is, etc.
(in case you guys can't tell, I did corrections of my previous.)

btw, I still stand by the ending I predicted above.

the story's end off jumping point will not be 10 years, (2013), but 100 years, (2103), two possibilities, one would be Negi/Chacha/Eva etc. welcome back Asuna, and making friends anew with her from zero memory, the other is hope against all hope, Asuna remembers them, happy end. obviously, I think the second path (good end) is the prefer one, even if the first one (true end) is the more realistic one. the find someone else for the Asuna's role is basically a bad end, because the only one with comparative lineage to Asuna is LM (which required a host body meaning Nagi), Arika, or Tomb Master, and I just don't see that happen and be as satisfy as story goes from the other two.

I agree with you, both the true and good end you spoke of would be fine ends for me. And I believe you said she will only be sealed after graduation. There still should be half a year (or more?) before they graduate, and when they do it will probably be the end of the manga, after defeating Lifemaker and all with maybe 1-2 arcs before that happen. That way Asuna wouldn't disappear from the story (she gets sealed in one chapter, the next can already be an epilogue 100 years later). And while many would already been gone by that time, some can still be around like Negi, Eva, Chachamaru, Zazie, likely Setsuna and Kotarou as half youkai, Mana as half-mazoku, etc.

yes, anything is possible, but the thing you have to ask, is it likely from the point of view of an author? especially with the track record of Ken's story telling technique of setups and delivers? you think an author will not do such a dramatic scene of the sealing and reunion of an important character a hundred years later after setting it up? do you really think anyone else except Asuna will do for that part of story? to add the possibility of losing personality is to heighten the dramatic value, so there is a risk/price to be paid, the story just would not be the same if they use LM or find ways not to seal Asuna, etc.

(but since this is shonen manga and Ken we are talking, "Asuna" should survive, if this is a seinen manga then they might go the Gunbuster route for the true end, but no way, not after Ken pulls 3 death flags he set last arc, being Rakan, Shiori, and Fate.)

this direction fixed the ending AFAIC, (Asuna route), just not how it is going to get there, we are still at the end of Sep, 2003, and the graduation and seal date is late March, 2004. I expected in between at least one major arc left, (to take care of LM ,Nagi and Zazie/Ponyo/Demon world.) they might even try to find a substitute, or ways to preserve Asuna's personalty, etc.

The way I see it, the last arc would probably be used to "fix" things up, ensuring it end on a happier note.

Because seriously, 100 years? I can think of three outcome for 3-A:

1. Most of them are dead, 'cept for the few halfies or outright non-humans
2. Chao's technology gives them long age, which meant that those gunning for Negi will be tortured by the fact that the boy will go "I must be there for Asuna" angst-inducing stubbornness whether his feelings for her are platonic or not, and the question would float for a century.
3. Chao stopped time for them using cryo tech, meaning that they would abandon their families

Well, considering most of their families seem to play absolutely no role at all in the girls' lives... (they don't even visit during Mahorafest, the girls don't think about them even when in deadly danger, etc, etc...)...

With Chao technology, then maybe they can at least visit her once after the seal is undone to say their proper goodbyes, but not really going to live on the future.
