Wait. What about the movie? Even if they do come back, they won't get a repeat performance. Though, hopefully, they don't tank as bad as K-ON. Homura needs some redemption.

^There won't be PMMM domination in Saimoe next year BUT Homura will be doing that single-handedly. XD Or so I hope. XD

The movie might help them though, who knows. -shrugs-

The first movie may be out too late for Madoka to participate on saimoe 2012... but may be around for every saimoe 2013-2015... let's see how they will perform in the future.

If I recall correctly, Nanoha The 2nd will also likely miss the 2012 cutoff...could this mean a square-off between the two magical girl factions, both of which have had a character win a saimoe contest now?
