According to Seiga, the transmitter is activated when you press red twice and blue once. So dropping it won't activate it.

Plus the transmitter is a pen in disguise. Unless the funeral parlor member doesn't trust him then they won't suspect a pen plus if that did happen by the time the members are opening up to Shu but still that's a possibilities given that it doesn't look like an ordinary pen if you look into it but by first glance. It could pass as a pen.

He can just give it to him. The signal is triggered by a code.

Yeah but they'll think something is up when his "pen" doesn't have a tip.

Do we know it doesn't? If you're thinking of how both the ink and mechanism would fit it's simple you just have 1/5th of the ink in it. It's not strange for it to run out of ink afterall.

It not having a tip shouldn't cause a fuss either since it's not exactly strange for it to break. "oh I think that one is broke, let me see if I have another..."

Why are people discussing how that pen works? >_>
For plot convenient reasons he should not be caught having that pen at this point and that pen is a plot device for later if he should use it or not.

It's a fair discussion. Plot device or not if it was extremely stupid and implausible it would be just another stain on the show.

I don't know about you guys but I think people will think something is up when they see how colorful and big that pen is that he's carrying.

I mean who uses a pen that holds multiple colors these days? Oh wait he's a student....

I think the most likely scenario for that pen is that he will eventually use it and regret it about five minutes later.

There's certainly going to be some "regret it five minutes later" even if he just throws it into the ocean.

Interesting episode.
Spoiler for Ep 5:

Not as pulse pounding as the climax of episode four, but the show is building up its story and characters.

Enjoyed ep5. Raced by. Good complications, especially the emotional ones. Inori gets some complexity. Shu is weak but strong. I'm surprised he didn't click the pen as soon as he saw Inori go into that room, lol.

And the pen does in fact have a tip -- or perhaps three retractable ones (lower right). There's lots of room in there for ink cartridges and a transmitter:

The music in this show is great.

Nice episode. I kinda feel as if that whole"Let's run away together" scenario was brought up too early but it wasn't really much of a setback for me anyway. Great BGM as always. Arugo's Void was awesome. Reminds me how much it may suck that Shu can only extract Voids from 17 and under >_> I'd really like to see what Oogumo's(big guy) Void can do.

Looking at the preview for Phase 6, did anyone else notice how different that sword looks? Perhaps Inori might not be the only one who has that kind of Void.

IIRC the relationship he has with the person has something to do with it and since he probaly is less then happy with Inori manipulating his feelings the sword might come out a bit different

Episode 5 was quite a roller coaster, in terms of emotional effect.

Spoiler for Episode 5:

Another solid episode that moves the story along and continues to add depth and characterization to the cast of the story.

I don't like Gai. Shu should have used the pen. Damnit.
