That doesn't seem like an appropriate response to a mistake. Unless you or others have tried to tell him differently before, and even then you could do so without profanity.

1. Yes he was told otherwise. IIRC more than once.
2. It's profanity about this particular piece of fanon - Graham planting Book on Hayate is forever The BULLSHIT (capital letters do matter) for me.

Hey! i'm not talking about you-know-who at this moment and i mentioned the Graham theory because more or less seemed plausible and i haven't readed the counter-argument yet xDU.

Chrono in no uncertain term says that Graham "found the next master of the tome" in the anime. Found, not "messed with the system." Then the sound stages confirm that it's Reinforce (AKA the tome itself) who chooses the master, which pretty much seals the deal.

It really must have been eating Reinforce.

She breaks pattern to choose someone who will treat the Wolkenritter well, even though it means condemning that little girl and her world to death (not to mention the depredations of the Wolkenritter).

Then the girl refuses to have the Knights gather cores, and makes a family out of them.

Even the Book comes to love the girl... the girl that is going to die. And her Wolkenritter are trying to hard to save and stay with a girl that they don't even realize they'll be killing by filling the Book's pages.

But anyway, none of this is about Magic and Technology.

Anyone have any theories on how the Jewel Seed blob monster was able to injure Yuuno, considering he's better with barriers than Nanoha is, and throwing itself at Nanoha's barrier caused it to explode, without even scratching her?

A myriad of theories but i guess everything is reduced to "because plot says so" xDU

Everything COULD be reduced to that, but that's boring.

One possibility I thought of was that the Blob Monster was actually weakened by what Yuuno did to it; he basically softened it up for Nanoha.

Another possibility (which is not exclusive from the first), is that the red color of the sky (and the wierd colors overall) indicate that the Blob Monster caught Yuuno inside a field that had some sort of hostile effect on the boy; perhaps an area-wide Barrier Break function, or a general Anti-Magilink effect which the Monster was too power (and too simple) to be significantly bothered by.

Put together, the Monster used the AMF on Yuuno, but Yuuno's incomplete sealing managed to lock out that power.

There are various theories:

* Maybe the monster was really that powerfull and indeed Yuuno fight most of the battle against it. The MOVIE 1st version is more justifiable because it was made out of three Jewel Seeds instead of one, and Nanoha used a pretty powerfull attack in order to seal it.

* Maybe the monster find an opening to injure Yuuno and thus wearing down the boy, remeber how costly and time-wasting is for Yuuno to activate RH's sealing powers, probably Yuuno thinked the monster was in a good spot for sealing but was surprised in his attempt to cast the sealing sepell, from what i've seen the monster seems to be quite fast.

* Maybe the power of that particular Jewel Seed gave the monster an advantage against shields or barriers, but that will contradict how Nanoha easily blocked the monster with her basic "protection" spell.

the liost can go on but those are the ones who more immediatly appeared on my mind.

Or maybe it was because Yuuno was directly attacking/sealing it at the same time and didn't concentrated on defense enough. Simplest one I think...

Does anyone think that Yuuno affected a Dimensional Transfer from Midchilda to Earth on his own, or that he booked a flight on a commercial civilian vessel, as per the movie manga?

Thus far, there have only been two cases of individuals showing the power to make such instellar jumps, both cases involved powerful technology.

* After her mother moved the Garden of Time into dimensional space, Fate was capable of teleporting from the Garden of Time to Midchilda, and from the Garden to Earth. However, we are not shown her teleporting straight from one planet to the other. Further, it is highly probable that the Garden had a teleporter array that would assist authorized users in leaving and returning to the Garden.

* The Wolkenritter were connected to the Book of Darkness, a powerful artifact expressly capable of teleporting across the dimensional sea and of causing dimensional disturbances capable of destroying planets when at full strength. On top of their own considerable magical strength and accumulated years of experience, the Book probably aided them in getting around the universe.

Or maybe he spending too much energy just to teleport himself that far, and exhausted before the battle even began...

I've considered that possibility.

But considering the only other examples we have of interstellar teleportation (Ace + assistance from something at least as powerful as a warship), it seems unlikely.

Then again, Yuuno himself isn't that far behind the Aces in power, he's much better at teleportation, and he might have had access to a strong enough booster on Mid...

But another possibility is that Yuuno booked a flight on a commercial ship, teleported down to Earth, and then fought a monster we never saw in order to get the first Jewel Seed.

Because officially, he'd already recovered one before fighting the Blob Monster.

So, anyone remember that discussion on DeVille's "Short Jump" in one of the Force threads?

I see that in the time since then, a page was added to the Wiki offering more details on the Short Jump, drawn from "Vol.3's chapter 12 Magic Dictionary".

http://nanoha.wikia.com/wiki/Short_Jump

This clarifies that the "short" part of the Short Jump refers to how quickly the teleporter reappears after disappearing. As opposed to "how quickly one can initiate a teleport" or any idea of a "minimum range" for regular teleportation.

That is, regular teleportation has no minimum range, so you can use it to teleport short distances, and even an advanced trick like forced teleportation can be used fast enough that the target has no time to pull away.

But teleportation is not typically used in the middle of combat except to escape from it completely, because of how long it takes someone to reappear after disappearing. That span of time (in which you cannot percieve or react) gives the situation too much time to change. If you attempted to use this for an attack, you could miss your target completely and get hit by unexpected fire.

A Short Jump makes in-combat teleportation practical by allowing you to reappear before the average target has enough time to react.

I still don't think DeVille even tried to use his Short Jump against Fate (perhaps because the time he needed to start the manuever would give Fate enough time to strike before he disappeared), but if he did, she was likely fast enough to avoid his strikes.

^ At the end it turned out to be a middle ground between both arguments. Deville can't just go "Nightcrawler" on people because the dissapearing effect sin't that fast but he can indeed use the technique to ambush or surprise targets becuase the translation is completely delay-free, allowing him to think about creative set ups to perform the teleport during battle and catch a targert off-guard.

Not as uber broken as i've thinked before but still a pretty nasty trick that can give a powerfull edge in battle.

Ironically, it would seem that the calculation necessary to shorten the "phase time" increases the "casting time".

Thus, the reason why DeVille uses it to ambush people who aren't expecting to fight him at all, but not people he's already fighting.

It's much better for ambush strikes than pure speed like Fate's, but Fate's speed is better for flanking and evasion in the middle of a fight.

Incidentally, should we take Gears of Destiny to mean that Shamal can Short Jump?

In that verse, probably. In the main timeline we know that Shamal is capable of Teleportation magic similar to Yuuno's as also making magical shorcuts through the portals made by Klarerwind but so far we haven't seen evidence of her doing trnasposition similar to Deville's.
