I don't even see how it's legal for them to give themselves power. How does is that not considered unconstitutional in terms of the whole "separation of power" thing?

It's perfectly legal, so long as the law is passed.

For instance the ability to fillibuster did not originally exist in the law. It was only introduced later (after the actual practice had begun to become common).

They should had banned it insted of ''legalised'' it.
Did they really need way to slow work as much as they can?

This is what happens when you vote in a bunch of mental 5 year olds pandering to a mental 3 year old base.

Putin's party got 99.5% of the vote in Chechnya with 99.5% turnout.

Quote:
Though Prime Minister Vladimir Putin started the second Chechen war in 1999, there is no resentment at all in the republic toward his political party, judging by the results of the State Duma vote in Chechnya.
If you're going to rig an election, at least make it look less obvious.

No, maybe that's the idea. "You want vote? Sure, as long as all of them count as mine. Problem?"

That is an unfair statement.

You forgot to include the other pre-collapse premiers, as well as modern US politicians like Bachmann, He-man "Pokemon" Cain and possibly Romney.

It isn't called rigging, it is called the "North Korean Democracy" way.

You can vote for the incumbent or someone else, but not voting for the incumbent implies (meant in its legal term form rather than that of general English) treason.

They would probably but it more likely than someone on their staff would manage to convince them than 80% would be enough and maybe more realistic. Who know, Poutine's staff might be too scared to even suggesting this .

If you vote for the other guy, you're voting against United Russia. Don't you want a United Russia? Well if you did, you'd be voting for it, because you're not voting for it, you're a treasonous swine who hates the nation, and our glorious leader Putin.

Heard of Nashi?

Chechnya gets billions of rubles each year(~13 in 2010). Money wasted for nothing though.

Iran displays captured US drone

So, unless the Iranians have excellent skills in producing models of UAVs, it looks like they were not bluffing when they say they had captured the drone. This bring interesting questions (1) how? (2) What will happen to it now?

1. Malfunction. At least that's what I read in the news.
2. Nothing

Last I heard, they were considering handing it over to China. As per The Daily Show: "Wow Iran, didn't know you were China's bitch."
