Yeah i know but why DMC on all ? she doesn't show some emotions (i think?) or she's laughing in her head. It could be some sort of reference.

I think the neta for that is actually the ancient poem collection (Man you Shu/Man you集/万葉集). I honestly don't remember if this was in the novel,

but since Horizon's soul is supposed to be resided in her throat, Kawakami might've turned the poetry collection into a music collection, and DMC's just a [random] good choice .

I never believe that anything Kawakami does is coincidence, I wish I can understand enough of the language to read all 21+ neta threads on 2ch @__@.

IMO, all automaton with the soul inside like Horizon, Kazuno, maybe Musashi have emotions, but they just can't show them on their face.
