I really liked this song. Has techno rhythm and the following sound looked like the slow-mode version of Faylan "Errand" (Qwaser of Stigmata S1 OP1). The song also reminds me of one of previous Mizuki singles "Scarlet Knight" (Dog Days S1 OP) but with a faster rhythm.

有史以来、世界の各地にてたびたび観測されてきたものであったが、
その年の国連総会にて正式に議題として取り上げられ、
限りなく未知に近い既知の存在として、公式に認定されることで一致した。

国際平和維持のため、
各国が協調し対処にあたるべき認定特異災害『ノイズ』。

ノイズはヒトを襲い、
ヒトに接触することで、炭素の塊へと変えて分解してしまう。
対して、ヒトの行使する通常物理法則にのっとった破壊力は、
いかに最新・先鋭を誇っていようと、ノイズには微々たる効果しか発揮できず、
ヒトは往々にして、ただノイズが通り過ぎ、姿を消すのを待つだけでしかなかった。

ある者は、そんなノイズを「まさに災害だ」と評し、
またある者は、ヒトだけを襲い、炭素の塊へと変え、
やがてノイズ自身も炭素の塊と崩れ落ちるその様に、
「他人を巻き込む自殺願望そのものだな」と吐き捨てるのであった。



物語の舞台は、近未来の日本。東京。

日本政府は、公に出来ない暴力装置をいくつかかかえている。
特異災害対策機動部二課は、
第二次世界大戦時に旧陸軍が組織した特務室『風鳴機関』を前身としており、
一般に周知されている対策機動部一課と同様、
特異災害ノイズに対する、被害拡大の阻止と事態収拾を担っているのだが、
決定的に異なる点がひとつあった。

『シンフォギアシステム』――

天敵ノイズの駆逐のため、
人類が備えうる、唯一絶対の切り札の保有と、その行使である。

シンフォギアシステムを身に纏ったものだけが、
ノイズに対して効率的・有効な攻撃手段を備え、撃退することを可能とする。

だが、既存の技術体系とは一線を画す、
異端技術の結晶でもあるシンフォギアは、
同時にノイズを殲滅せしめる強力な武装でもあるため、
米国との安全保障条約や、周辺諸外国に対する影響も鑑みられ、
現在の政府与党判断によって、完全に秘匿されている状態でもある。

誰に知られることなくノイズと戦い、
ヒトの暮らしを守る防人たちが年端もいかぬ少女たちであることを――
その正体が、当代トップのボーカルユニットである『ツヴァイウィング』の２人、

立花 響と小日向 未来は、

This is the best episode I've seen this winter ! There's a lot of good things in it. Awesome action scenes (it gives me Gurren Lagann vibes), decent animation (especially during insert songs) and likable cast. This series gives me Madoka Magica vibes for some reasons (one of the main characters die, darker atmosphere, few comedic moments). Biggest surprise of the season !

Spoiler for Suite Symphogeaar 01 - KABOOM! The Second Wave of the Noise Invasion:

So while the first wave of Noise was a bird and various assorted objects, the second Noise invasion is blobs of... stuff. Glowy stuff. It's definitely volatile glowy stuff, but it's... stuff. Hopefully the second episode fills us in a bit more on what was going on here, because yes, the action was nice, and anything music based is bound to grab my attention, but the rampant killing off(?) of characters and the almost constant action, with very little ground level stuff, left me not feeling totally engaged yet.

Who are the people behind this? What's that thing that happened with Hibiki at the end? The animation for the idol dancing was pretty good - I'm glad as long as it's not that weird pseudo-3D. Just need a week for the dust to settle and the stakes to be given. Because I really do like the premise, but if I'm going to be given all this darkened seriousness, I need some light so I can see why it's happening.

Well, damn. That sets a high bar for AKB0048 to top. Certainly the best looking series so far (though I expect Another will give it some competition), and the songs are better than the PVs led me to believe. Now I just need subs to figure out if the plot makes any sense.

There were blobs of glowy stuff in the first wave, too. They ate one of the first people to die in the attack.

I went into this show completely blind, and ten minutes in 'Hibki? Kanade? Mephisto? Noise? What?!'

I really liked that, though it was a bit all over the place. It really charged me up.
