There is the option of Tatenashi's will being completely ignored by her parents. Her last wish before she is wed is to have Ichika take care of their son. Tatenashi is forced to marry someone else and Rin is with Ichika.

The original idea for the draft had Rin saying in the end, "Well, I'm used to being number 2. But if it's you then I won't mind."
