Subtitles running quicker than the video
Recently I started noticing that some, but not all, subtitles in mkvs I play on MPC tend to run faster than the actual dialogue they're supposed to sub. This only happens on MPC but not when I use VLC, but I prefer using MPC since it's lightweight and takes screencaps easier.
This happens only on some videos consistently. Other videos, when the subtitles are on par with the dialogue, always work properly. This also started happening when mkvs started on 10bit. Anyone got a good workaround.

You can always give smplayer a try. Mplayer comes with its own codecs so it won't interfere with CCCP or other codecs you may have installed. If that doesn't help, try replacing mplayer with mplayer2. There's a Windows version for that as well. (You can keep smplayer itself since it's just a GUI shell for mplayer.)

Thanks for the advice. Just realized that for some reason VSfilter wasn't autoloading in my CCCP settings. Turned it back on and the subtitles work again. Thanks.
