Suggestion for a realistic anime

Well I am sick of trying new anime to find out after one or two episodes that they are juvenile and unrealistic.

Now I am not talking about magic and stuff but it seems a lot of anime have a rule that Women have to be stronger and always win the battles and its just annoys me.

Note: It doesn't matter when talking about magic because thats anyones game but I am sick of seeing skinny human girls in anime beat up hulk like Men and all the while with a smug face.

Can you suggest any anime. I like FMA brotherhood and Elfen Lied, Plus Evangelion and Last Exile.

I also liked fruits basket it was relaxing to watch.

EDIT: Extract from second thread

An Anime series where Women aren't portrayed as bad asses that can beat Men at ease.

Basically I want something just like any other anime but doesn't have Women beating Men. Whether is be like Inuyasha where Kagome sits Inuyasha and Sango slaps Miroku like he is her property.

So basically just like in reality the anime has to portray Men as better fighters and can't have those stupid Inuyasha scenes where Women beating on Men is meant to be funny.

Does anyone know of any like this because I have only found about 5 so far that are good like this.

It seems like your concerns have to do with fighting shows. There are lots of shows that are at least semi-realistic but not combat-oriented. The "slice-of-life" genre is the obvious example

As for the strong females/weak males issue, I think that reflects a preference among the otaku audience for shows where they can identify with the male character. There's a certain romantic aspect to the female protector theme which helps explain its prevalence in anime. The rise of the "girls-with-guns" genre over the past couple of decades, in both anime and popular movies, has accelerated this trend.

Here are a few shows that have strong male characters. Some of them have supernatural or science-fiction aspects that limit their "realism," but they have strong male protagonists as well. I've starred the ones that have more realistic story lines:

Baccano!
Bartender*
Bakeneko/Mononoke
Ghost Hound
House of Five Leaves*
Hyouge Mono*
Monster*
Nodame Cantabile*
Noein
Usagi Drop*

I am not sure what kind of realism the topc starter is looking for? Realism as in nothing supernatural, paranormal, science fiction etc. like some comedy , romance or slice of life series or more realistic action anime (as in the main characters not getting a random powerup out of nowhere).

Alright obviously I didn't ask my question properly.

Basically something like Inuyasha but doesn't have Women slapping and hitting Men all through it. Also just a little more grown up than Inuyasha meaning he can't win all the time and everything is fine and dandy.

Also it should go without saying but it can't portray Women as bad ass warriors that beat Men all the time. Because this is just lame and just because its fantasy doesn't mean you have to make everything back the front.

For fighting-fantasy-action, you can try To Aru Majutsu no Index. If you don’t mind the lack of fighting and can appreciate supernatural-horror genre, you can try Ghost Hunt. If you blend those supernatural-horror and fighting-fantasy genre, you’ll get an anime like Tokyo Majin Gakuen.

Sorry if you've already seen those titles.

Fist of the North Star is the first that came to my mind. There is one decent female warrior, but she can't do a thing against any bosses or even mid-bosses. Not to mention how underpowered she is compared to her allies. If you want some non-action anime, I could mention a few balanced as well.

So female being stronger than a guy is unrealistic? 0_o I truthfully want to slap you across the face right now... As a sportswoman I find this statement offensive! Won't deny that if both parties train then the guys are physically stronger but physical strength is not an indicator of superiority! Skills and tactic also play huge role! Of course if it is barbie kind of girl then yeh, she stands 0 chances. Those kind of blondes make me ashamed for my gender.
Phew, I feel better now.

Well your safest choice is to watch Katekyo Hitman Reborn. Female chars are literally stuck in the kitchen for the biggest part of the show. But I would say it is on Inuyasha level if not even more childish...

07-Ghost, all the cast are mostly men. There are few females and all of them are innocent nuns.

Baccano is good choice too. Series do have two strong females but they are not unbeatable and do have problems. There are guys superior. Besides anime is great in story telling.

Berserk, all man are kicking the asses. Only one female is a warrior and she does have her problems. There are those whom she can kick and those whom she can't.

Ghost Hunt, not action, more of a detective kind so girl is not kicking any asses.

GTO is a great comedy with awesome main hero. Does get his butt kicked a lot but not only by females. Besides he can get back on you. Though there is a female genius but I don't think it is that unrealistic, there is a smart guy too.

Hakuouki has really helpless main heroine.

Monster are detective series were biggest cast are males.

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin not a single female kicking anyone's ass. Very realistic setup with no supe powers.

Samurai Champloo guys doing their job, slicing people.

Steins;Gate I hope you don't consider that smart females are also unbelievable otherwise I don't even want to imagine what kind of dumb female friends you have. Though the main character is a guy who is smart himself. Series are about time travel.

Hope something will fit your liking.

P.S. Though I do agree with the issue where females constantly beat up guys in anime comedies. Those do tend to over do it.

Problem with To Aru Majutsu no Index is that there are a lot of strong females in it than can easily beat muscular men. One of the first female characters that you meet in that serie is the 3rd strongest esper in the city.
Most shounen anime have male characters that are generally stronger than female characters though.

I don't care if your a Woman. Basically the best fighters in real life are UFC fighters. And sorry to tell you but no Woman in the UFC would be able to even have a chance against people like GSP, Anderson Silva, JDS, or even mid level Men like Chuck Liddell.

Sorry facts are facts and as far as I can tell every year in the Olympics Men's records beat Women records.

The whole reason mixed fighting, Swimming, Running, lifting, or even sports like Tennis where Men hit the ball so much faster. The whole reason is it would be pointless because most of the time the Man would win.

At least you agree that the Women bashing their allies up for comedy is overdone.

As I said guys are physically stronger, there is no denying it. Men muscles work differently from females what is kind of sad. But in every combat there is a trick. If you have a match between a huge dude and tiny one you obviously will cheer for big one but there are a lot of cases where small dudes won. There are exceptions. A match between female and male is the same as a match between huge dude and small. Males do have bigger chances but it is not a fact that they will 100% win. Chances would be around 70% to 30% or 80% to 20% but they are still there. Though if the technique is good as well as reflexes and speed, those chances increase.

I saw a match ones where a dude didn't use any hitting techniques. He was only throwing and twisting his opponents bodies. He had several matches and barely anyone managed to place a hit on him. In his place could easily be a female, of course she could have more trouble but still, if you properly use momentum and enemies strength, you have advantage no matter what gender you have.

I myself do judo and I know how important good timing and technique is. Guys and heavy opponents over helm you with strength and weight but if you manage to find an opening, create one and use it, you also have a chance to win. Of course that doesn't happen all the time but a chance is always there. Someone's victory is never determined for 100%.

P.S. If talk about gun shooting I don't think gender plays any role at all since anyone can be accurate if they practice a lot. And about Olympics, it is stupid to compare world records because as I said men are physically stronger, their bodies are more advanced from the start though as kids and early teenager years females and males are on par.
But you are forgetting about sportsman who didn't reach any records, some of them are below top females who do have a record. Exceptions are everywhere. Not all females are pathetic and not all guys are super strong.

You can agree with me or not but a lot of those things I know for a fact, I saw those exceptions with my own eyes and was part of some too. Won't lie that for the biggest time I was dominated but I did get my moment and won. Exceptions are everywhere. If there were no exceptions, world would become boring and predictable. The great Muhamed Ali also lost few matches even though he was a fearsome boxer. No one is unbeatable.

Well I said what I wanted and I'll leave it at that. No need to answer, just reading and thinking about it is enough.

To summarize whole post, the main point is: Men are physically stronger than females but exceptions are there too. Not all men have world records and not all females are barbie type who can't do anything.

I hope you understand my point. I don't expect you to change your mind, I just wish that you wouldn't block any possibilities. Because like that you are underestimating not only females but males too.

P.S.S. And yeh that's totally over done, that's an abuse that in real life would be long time punished for -_-
And there was no need to neg rate, I didn't neg rate you did I?! Besides you missed the whole point in my first post! Comparing records is simply stupid and childish. Not all men have those records, there are those below female records. Comparing tops is ridiculous because of how different body structure for males and females is.

I don't watch many anime when men are slapped and hitted by women but I suggest you Yosuga no Sora. If you don't like incest, look at Dragon Crisis!. It has strong male and female main character but the female main character (Rose) don't slap the main character (Ryuji) if I remember correctly. I also recommend to you Angel Beats!.

I doubt Angel Beats will suit his taste... it has Kanade and she is far from being weak.

Try Tiger & Bunny for an action show with strong male leads.

You might also like Crest of the Stars, Katanagatari, and Chrome Shelled Regios.

Outside the action genre you should look at The World God Only Knows, Cross Game, and Hayate the Combat Butler for some strong male leads.

But in the case of Hayate the Combat Butler, there are some strong female characters in it as well. And the topic starter doesn't like something with females that can beat up males with ease.

I feel TWGOK suits his taste outside of the action genre. But considering he prefers anime filled to the brim with MANLINESS...
