Oddly enough, I like the Tsukihime anime a lot, but consider Fate/stay night and Fate/zero to be horribly bad. Even KnK wasn't very good to me.

I wonder which is more likely:

1. Tsukihime focused less on pleasing fans of the VN or being "true" to the VN world, which resulted in me liking it while fans all hate it.

2. Tsukihime's story appeals more to me than the other 3 I've seen, so even though the anime didn't do it justice I still liked it infinitely more than them.

If the second case is true, then they really need to make a "good" version of the anime as it would be one of my favorites ever.

Maybe because its director, Katsushi Sakurabi directs every single anime that are underrated, horribly directed that many people hate them.

F/SN is indeed bad. But F/Z is not a VN at all.

I recommend reading the Tsukihime manga since instead of cutting loads of important things out (like what the anime did) it actually expands on a lot of the stuff. In fact, techinaccly the maga makes just as many changes a the anime but in a way that's actually good. I haven't met a Tsukihime fan that doesn't like the manga.

I can understand you thinking the FSN anime is bad though. Lots of VN players think it's bad too. Thinking KnK and Fate/Zero is horrible is a real mystery to me though...

They'd probably have to change the title, though.

I thought KnK was good, just not "very good" like Tsukihime was to me.

I read quite a bit of the Tsukihime manga yesterday, and liked it a lot. I'll probably finish it today. I think the reason I like the anime so much more than the others is a combination of the 2 reasons. The story is more appealing to me. And there is less reverence for the source material, less assumption that viewers are already invested in the Nasuverse. FSN and Fate/Zero really assume a lot IMO and come off as stilted and boring to me.

Anyway, to get closer to the topic, I'll agree that a new Tsukihime covering more of what the manga expands on would be great.
