Looks like they changed the color of Cthugha (Kuuko) from black to red.

It is just me or is Asta sounds like a feminine boy or a reverse trap for me ? Personally, I think that the male characters in Nyaruko has over-feminine-like appearance like this and Mahiro (yeah, he has extreme-bishounen appearance).

Crunchyroll has this, but their release plan is a little confusing:

“Prior to simulcasting the new season, Crunchyroll will release the first five (5) episodes from season one (1) today at 2PM PST. The subsequent four (4) episodes will be available the following week until the completion of season two (2). More information can be found on www.crunchyroll.com/crawling.

After the final episodes of season two (2) have been broadcasted, Crunchyroll will begin simulcasting season three (3) on its site this April.”

I take it seasons 1 and 2 were the flash animations?

Yes. I think Crunchyroll could have worded it better. It is my understanding that what they're calling "season 3" is the TV anime that will be done by Xebec starting in April. I hope the episodes are full-length and not just 5 minute episodes. I am going to be watching this though. Glad CR got this(along with the flash animated episodes).

I'll admit, I wasn't quite sure before, but now that I've had a chance to start watching the series on CR, I can't wait for more.

Maybe they should have called the TV series the third "series" instead of "season." That might have been a little less confusing.

sadly some of those 5 min anime are really fun and leave me wanting more.

Indeed - the ordering/arrangement of the series thus far can cause some head-scratching.

But hafta agree with the others - the imagery from the anime looks pretty good. Am even more curious now.

I honestly can not quite say what is it about this series. It honestly shouldn't work as well as it seems to. Maybe later it will fall apart, at least for me, but right now it works.

One question I have. Do the the flash ONA and the OVA series actually relate to each other? Or are they more like reboots?

Hmm ... not quite sure what you mean when you ask if they "relate to each other" ... I mean, they are based on the same LN sources, so to that extent of course they relate to each other, but in the sense of a continuous narrative deliberately constructed one after the other chronologically or something I honestly don't know.

Then again, I'm certainly no expert on the series.

The main reason it works for me, to be honest, is precisely because it parodies Lovecraft.

As for the anime, even though the character design's eyes are less faithful than the LN illustrations, I might enjoy this one (but only the first episode because of lack of time).

Crunchyroll is doing a poll asking fans whether it should be Nyarko-san or Nyaruko-san. I chose Nyarko because it sounds closer to a nickname for Nyarlathotep than "Nyaruko".

The official site, I'm told, uses Nyaruko for the character's name though. Normally I would just go with the official site but since the original source of the name is English(Lovecraft doing pseudo-Egyptian name), that should take priority. Especially since there is no "u" in Nyarlathotep.

Well, interesting. I personally prefer the name as Nyarlko... But I can see where Nyarko's coming from too. Yeah there's Nyaruko everywhere on the merchandise, but it wouldn't be the first time the creators screwed up the romanization.
