Someone exposed long enough, anesthetic is prone to this, but only limited resistance (increased dose can take care of that ). There's no such thing as total immunity to drug, unless you almost die of addiction and overdose (like say, Michael Jackson).

Is it possible to mask your voice (to make it harder to recognize you) by speaking in a low or growling tone or is it pointless?

Not pointless, at the least, it would be effective half the time even if you're bad actor, or more if you good enough at it.

@ Senpai - If your voice is caught on recording, would it make it harder to recognize if the person was speaking in that tone?

Batman does it? Well, I tend to speak with nasal, lighter voice when talk casually, changed to deep, adult-sounding formal speech. It's gained from activity in drama club.

This is because everyone, by default, has default pitch and tone. You can train it so you can get variety and gained resistance to voice-box fatigue. But yes, if done forcibly, will be uncomfortable and itchy.

Hardly, in fact, you voice went broken (that is, like forced to sound deep thus become cracky and itchy) because of the voicebox transformation DURING puberty.

May I note that the Alteisen costs about $75 while the Alteisen Nacht is a limited edition costing about $130.

$210~ well-spent (no, really!)

As for her being exhausted, they're walking from Narita railway station to the Naritasan Shinso-ji Temple. A somewhat-long walk so yeah... Then there's also me using it as an excuse for her to piggyback ride Inami.

This chapter will be pretty much filled with it :3

(aside from the occassional scenes of the military handing Praxidike drones' asses back to them )

@ Senpai - Is there any gun with an extremely low amount of recoil that just about anyone can fire it? Also, do flares hitting someone hurt a lot?

@ Stratos - I need to finish the last kid's intros for FI

Tank Commander: "Open fire!"

*One Duplica Stratos smashed into a jet fighter*

Tank Gunner: "Toast one"

M: "........."

The answer is 22 LR, often underestimated due to low power and tiny size until it bores through your head. As for flares, depending on the material used, but rarely causing deep burn.
