If you compare the stoic Takanashi in Working'!! to the stoic Haji in Blood+, I think you must conclude that Takanashi is simply Himari's chevalier, and he has a supernatural link to her.

Well, I can't really blame you for thinking that way. It's probably the effect of the magic known as Hime cut.

Well, Yamada certainly is the least intelligent of the cast. At least she's cute and funny at certain times, no? XD

The reason why Yamada's stupidity and uselessness works is because she's utterly shameless about it

I also one of the people who disliked (meh at best) Yamada on the manga and first season, but I really like her on the second season ^^
She was cute when she went to shopping center with Souma (that song, "shiawase chou shiawase chou chou shiawase X3). And also when she cried and called for her mother, it was a bit sad for a moment; thanks to Satou who ruin it with his phone conversation with Poplar XD

Gah I can't let that slide even if I haven't posted in this thread in a while, the least intelligent in the series is clearly the Male Yamada, so I would appreciate it if you changed her status to "least intelligent of the main cast" .

Hard to say but I reckon Male Yamada just edges out over Yamada. I mean he must have at least a degree of competency in being good at Karate and if it weren't for Souma, he'd have found Yamada by now without relying on the police, which is not an easy thing to do (though that's probably more due to luck).

Plus he managed to digest Takanashi's entire life story with Inami and deduce that Takanashi is obviously the one Inami likes. Yamada not only wouldn't have come to that conclusion but would have come to an entirely different and way-off-the-mark deduction that would've just caused more misunderstandings.

I'll join that group. I just can't get her saying "Yamada-desu!" out of my head now.

Check, Male Yamada is actually rather cunning in a dense kind of way.

Regardless of that, someone who is too stupid to realize his actions(prior to meeting Inami) were possibly illegal and getting him a reputation as a creepier/stalker/etc is far more stupid than Yamada, who at least knows when she's done something wrong, or knows when she's stupid (remember her test score comment ).

Male Yamada? Oh, he's stupid, but definitely smarter than Girl Yamada, as he was sharp enough to figure out whose peen Inami wants. Nevertheless, as a lost boy, he's still dumb. Runs in the family, after all.

Yachiyo might have them beat though. She can't figure out Satou is tsundere for her, how technology works, or how carrying a sword in a restaurant isn't threatening.

One question. When they announced the second season, it was mentioned that a whole new set of character songs would hit the market sooner or later. Is there any news of that or was it never a thing to begin with?

Took me awhile but I finally got around to finishing season 2 of this, and while there is a nice boost in production values from A-1 pictures, I cannot help but feel that the second season was not as good as season 1.

Season 1 had a freshness about it and of course the character were amusing, and they continued to be amusing in season 2, but now I can't help but feel that the snail's pace of progression for our characters has gotten EVEN slower. It was already pretty slow in season 1, but I at least felt by the end there was some pretty significant growth, particularly in Inami. In season 2, I felt like we barely moved anywhere at all.

In some ways, we almost had the exact same little arcs as season 1. I feel like the little tidbits of Yachiyo and Sato were EXACTLY the same in season 1. I felt Inami danced back and forth between a line towards the end and barely moved forward. Takanashi is pretty much the same character he was in season 1, though he perhaps showed a little more compassion for Inami than before.

I don't know. I loved the characters in season 1, but I almost feel like they just didn't do ENOUGH with them. They could've spiced it up better.

I don't dislike season 2 by any means, just consider it weaker than season 1. Hopefully season 3 improves, presumably if it ever comes.

I love the cover art for those releases. ^

Finally finished it. I definitely found this more enjoyable than S1. Also needs more MATSUMOTO~ x3

Gawd, I love her. I had no idea she was a fan of "all black everything." :3

Volume 5 arrived! This volume actually went out of stock at most retailers before its release date due to tickets for a new Wagnaria live event in Japan were included in the limited DVD and BD editions, which caused many fans of the show to pre-order it well in advance. I pre-ordered it a few weeks before the official release date as well but still had to wait a few days after the release date for Animate to send it because of the large demand. Now I wonder if Aniplex will also release this new live event on blu-ray in the future, most likely they will given that they’ve done it for the first “Natsu no Daikanshasai” live event before.

Spoiler for Working'!! volume 5 limited edition bd goodies:

Actually, doesn't Yamada remind you of Nagi of kannagi? Beside the hair color, i felt the expression was the same, from the first time she made her appearance:
Spoiler for :

Anyways ye, season 2 didn't really give the feeling of a season 2; there was no real progress. They'd have better made Working!! a 2 cour series, rather than split it into 2 seasons.

Nonetheless enjoyable as the first season, even tho it didn't show anything new.
