Misumaruka Koukoku Monogatari [Light Novel]

Anyone reading this? I thought it was very interesting reading the manga and some LN summaries were interesting and shocking as well. I will add more details later.

Well, I only read manga the first 2 volumes. I thought it would be a light hearted series, how naive of me.

i didn't like the fact the prince's power are always sealed;i don't mind him succeding thank to his wits and silver tongue but then why no making him weak and withouth talent for magic from the start?
he could have been badass but end being an emo prince who do no care about his own life...
disapointing.

Well, my first impression is that he's a pervert and cheerful prince whose only emo moment were

when he first destroyed a whole nation by mistake when he was a child and getting punished by isolation and being viewed as failure human weapon by people who made him this way including his dad

and

Spoiler for spoiler vol. 7:

getting betrayed by those he trusted the most especially his maid mentor who he respected like mom, having the crazy princess who has a crush on him throw his dad's severe head on him and said she'll make him her husband for life while laughing like a psycho... and he did have an emo moment laughing histerically for a while mumbling "father father, marriage, imperial family, revenge" before acting cheerful in front of the family that killed his dad and burnt his nation, wooing the psycho princess (another princess doesn't agree with her little sister's silly opinion about marrying the prince whose father she just killed because she wants to make him her own pet...seriously) and even became their strategist to take down another opposing nation for the empire.

I believe he's one of the most sane and cheerful protagonist in all LN I read. Well, he's not exactly sane but he's holding it quite well.

Hmm yea totally thought there was a thread for this series already, not the 1st time I thought this but for sure thought there was one for this series.

Wow, that sure is alot of stuff happening, only managed to follow the manga so far but damn.
Doesn't quite surprise me about the crazy princess but the head maid thing does, altho on hindsight probably should have expetced such a thing.

Doubt you can completely fake that part when he was laughing manically while his father's severed head was soaking his lap with blood. That and the other stuff you pointed out in that chapter probably pushed him over the edge of sanity...

So, about those spoilers...

I remember that when the manga ended, on the last panel there it was something that said "GOOD END (??)". I couldn't get what it was then... but reading the discussion here, then it's clear there pretty much everything goes downhill and probably because of that the manga didn't continued and finished the story when it did.

Now, after reading the spoilers and seeing things building up, you gotta ask yourself if someone is going to survive in the end, I can kinda see like everybody croaking while the hero pulls up a batman gambit to stop the empire and getting revenge

she was the princess of the nation Mahiru accidently destroyed. I think technically she did betray Mahiru as well.

After finding the mangaupdates page for the manga, one of the tags says rushed ending/axed. That sounds unfortunate... I thought this series started out strongly too.

Did the light novel end abruptly too?

Nope, the LN is still on-going 8and depressing as ever).

The author of this series also wrote 2 other LN series both are prequel to this sereis (almost have nothing in common though).

SZH from Baka-Tsuki said that the setting is set in China, during times of war. From the summaries, I guess that the story it fits pretty well in the context.

Personally, this is like a varient of Clannad to me. Or rather Higurashi or School Days. Starts rather light-hearted until it turns into a tragedy and you stuff the craziness there.

The crazy princess that was talked about, was she the princess Lunas or it was her older sister? Anyone here have any idea what is going on with the novel after vol 7?

While the MC "defeated" her and left and impression on her, the impression wasn't that big. Also, In fact I think that she likes someone else from the cast already.

From the 3 sisters, only the younger one wields a sword, I think; and the MC's father was beheaded (probably by a sword). Also that same yandere black night princess that he meet at first has been calling him finacee since pretty early on; in fact the whole mess from the spoiler sounds like something that she might do, as she is the craziest one when the MC is involved.

So they were 3 sisters. If the image I post isn't the one then that leaves princess luna and the other sister. Was there any image of the other princess? I think she might the girl that was referred in volume whom she like to marry the prince that the other princess was against it.
