I'm curious, how many anime exist with characters that play visual novels, if only for one episode?

I know that Oreimo, Kaminomi, and Haganai do but other than that I don't know any others.

Anyone have any ideas?

Only two come to mind atm, besides the ones you listed:
Ken of Seitokai no Ichizon, he rivasl Keima in VN playing, though he aims for the RL harem end due to them unlike Keima

Konata of Lucky Star is avid fan of them(and other games)

. Though I don't remember how much time is given to actually playing them like some of the examples.

The main character from It's not my fault that I'm popular (a manga, not an anime) is a great fan of visual novels and she plays that on a daily basis.

It also happens for Tori Aoi from Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere.
