Today's issue of webcomic Questionable Content features an item which, if it were real, would be very popular with Lucky Star fans.

Everybody its commenting about this anime. I really don't know.
I really like to watch some good animes, but now a days, nothing may be compared to Death Note. L and his deductives Skills. Things that they think and say, sounds so aqward and so mt at da same time. Well, im going to give it a shot. Nobody knows if something its good until you see it by yourself, right ? Cee ya guys xx Tatau |

Kinda exaggerating here, but my point is, if you are going to post something like this put it in a Death Note thread at least. |

Anyways, yes, be open to new things. But if you plan on watching it just so you can brag about how much better DN is in this thread, then no. |

five years later
It's been almost five years now since the show came out. Would you say it still holds up much? For that matter, would you say it holds up as its own show or as sort of a "DVD extra" for Haruhi?
Speaking of which, I was recently looking back on the archives when Aya Hirano was still the toast of the town. Kinda sad to look back on that now with all her medical issues, scandals, and bridge-burning comments about otakus. She fortunately still seems to have plenty of opportunities on the variety and narration circuit, but her anime presence has been greatly reduced, so we probably won't see any further anime of this series. The infamous Kaioshin Sama was right in that overexposing Aya too fast would probably lead to future problems. As for the rest of the cast, unfortunately I wouldn't say this show made big names out of them like with Haruhi or K-On. |

![]() Returning to the first quote; when you consider shows like BtTtS or Working!! and their success followed by 2nd seasons, there's really no reason for Lucky Star to lack its own 2nd season or to be considered just a "DVD extra". It is still a very memorable show deserving of more attention. Attention, that's almost impossible to acquire due to how the anime ended, sadly enough.

It makes me think that Kaioshin's theories were backward; Kadokawa arguably didn't think of it as a show for the ages like Haruhi and didn't push it nearly as hard as they did with their previous hit. Then again...no offense, but I wasn't completely impressed with the manga starting in about Vol. 7 (esp. when Yoshimizu retconned Patty's backstory). |

It did strike me as a bit odd that they "buried the advertising spectrum with L*S", made Konata their default mascot ... and then everything just vanished.
I'm with andyjay729... I lost interest in the series at volume 7, it just seemed like the author lost what was special (and not just Patty's retcon but just the focus in general). Its why I thought it was fascinating that the K-On! author is following his characters into university -- that's character-centric rather than setting-centric. Kind of miss Kagami.
