More info on the anime's 6 DVDs, they'll have 2 chapters each (only 12 chapters for now?), and the short extra OVAs will be, more or less:

-1: Crash Course! Annelotte's Holy Pose
-2: Vibration! Mirim's Change for Survival
-3: Disgrace! The Taming of Branwen
-4: Hot Spring! Liliana's refined aesthetics
-5: Assault! Aldra is Nearby
-6: Confusion! Annelotte and her Sisters-In-Arms Get Entangled

I'm expecting a second QBR season with the main focus on the marsland witch. I really doubt they'll manage to fit all the fan service and storyline in 12 episodes.

Yeah, I agree. I think QBR will follow the same formula as QB. 1st season will be about Annelotte’s journey to find companions and wanting to restore QB tournament. 2nd season, the start of QB tournament/fighting Swamp Witch, Welveria.

Looking at characters' PVs released so far, it seems the anime will loosely follow some of the chapters from QBR illustrated stories (thanks leecherboy for the translated chapters).

Watched the PV, but I didn't like the opening theme at all. It could be so much better if the opening theme would be used as a OST instrumental track.

This is a pretty clear break in the franchise, with a completely new cast. I'd say to keep it in its own thread.

Spoiler for QBR 01 - Those Who've Read the Past Are Bound to Repeat It:

I sort of stopped commenting on QB around the second season, not because of disinterest, but because I felt I was falling too far behind. That was silly of me, in retrospect. I haven't seen the last two OVAs that bridge the first series to Rebellion, but I still understood what was going on fairly well. I'll catch up on those later.

No OP, but we did get the ED over a clips package. So it opens with Liliana attacking. It takes me a while to warm up to Shizuka Itou characters for reasons that are largely boring, but... between Miniskirt and Gokai, I'm on a bit of a pirate kick, so I'll let it pass. Just as I spent last season making a thesis about comedy not hampering plot or characters in Milky Holmes, QB is a good example of a franchise that does the same, just replace "comedy" with "fanservice". Sure, it's a bit of a grab bag fantasy world, but it has history, and factions, and depth. It feels developed. Wait, that's not what I meant. I meant to say, that it's full world. That also came out wrong. It's believable as a constructed setting. There. Breasts. ...okay, smash cut to the next paragraph.

I like it how it feels like a natural transition to a new series. Plenty of old characters are still around, and some of the new ones are obviously there to fill the niche from before (you have your angel, your exotic one, noble knight, Japanese-themed warrior), but they're also their own person. Lots of Huit this episode, with Anelotte making a last minute save. I like that technology has advanced enough that robots are a thing now, even if they're rare. Mirim hasn't taken up the reins yet, but I look forward to when she does. Ymir and Elina's scenes were nice, but Anelotte's save...

Summoning a horse from the underworld is pretty cool. Wolzard vibes. Translucent horses are also cool. And very fanservicey, apparently. Smooth move, animators. This is the first series I picked up for the season (because Yurumates is on Fridays now), and it's not a bad start. Seeing a Yuu Kobayashi character anywhere near a cross is amusing, and now the main three Haruhi girls and the entire cast of Houkago Tea Time have played a role in this franchise.

Pixiv, get on either of those right away.

Sucks that Yumir's an enemy this time. Elina... is frankly the usual cannon fodder... Though the episode felt strangely low-quality. Was the original this low? Especially the part when Elina got sent flying. How she got sent flying wasn't even shown. The new loli girl getting thrown felt weird too... Well, it should still be a decent watch though. The story (at least the original) had at least a decent story, even if it was chaotic in its own chaotic world setting. Hope the animation for the ED wasn't what was shown this episode...
