Once again, none of this is truly unexpected compared to what was already presented in the low quality video from January's event, but we do get a better look at the KMF Alexander. I also like what appear to be unit markings on those Sutherlands.

Ryo Sayama - A general in the E.U. army who was responsible for planning the Smileless (?) Assault. He is currently the leader of an independent group opposing the mafia.

Yukiya Naruse - A young member of Ryo's group. He is an expert with explosives and intel.

Ayano Kousaka - A young woman who is part of Ryo's group. She always carries a sword with her.

I think スマイラス is Smilas, like Chris Smilas or Bennett & Smilas. So he planned asassination(?) of someone named Smilas.

The term doesn't really fit with the assassination of a specific person. It sounds more like either the name of the operation, or an assault on a location with that name. Without more details, I can't really be sure though. Smilas does sound better though.

I'm kinda worried about the project. It seems news slips out so infrequently. I wonder if they're having more production problems again...

I...don't know, to be honest, but don't especially think so either. If anything, today's news seems to indicate they're at least willing to elaborate further on both the staff and characters involved. There may well be some production issues, which I suppose is relatively normal in the grand scheme of things, but that doesn't mean they're particularly problematic. Well...going by what little we do know, anyway. My worthless guess is that they still don't have a full cast of voice actors.

After all, the first OVA is still scheduled for some unspecified Summer 2012 screenings, is it not? They still have a couple of months or so to try and narrow down and announce the final date. I guess we have to wait and see if that actually happens, before assuming they're in trouble.

Other than that, it's good to know that those rumors from quite a while ago were apparently correct, because we've got Miya Asakawa as well as Akane himself doing some writing plus a few other members of the Birdy the Mighty staff here.
