WOW! That's quite the story. Lmao @ Husband wishing he didn't teach her how to shoot. Well it seems like she doesn't know how to shoot anymore. But what the hell, random gunmen just shows up at her house? =(

They seem to live in A-Team land, where they shoot each other for comedy purpose and no one ever dies.

Some people just make me sick.

Why isn't she in prison and stripped of the right to own weapons? Shooting (and not killing) your husband for sleeping around is attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon last time I checked.

No idea. ~shrugs~

I'm not even sure what the gun laws in Macon, Florida allowed (or didn't allow) 35 years ago. I'm pretty sure attempted murder, no matter what the reason was, was very frowned upon though.

If he didn't press charges, than no one is going to prosecute. Attempted murder or no attempted murder.

Maybe he was afraid she'd finish the job if he pressed charges.

Given than the Travon Martin case also happened in Florida, it might not be that surprising.

Australia has cemented its reputation as the home of the world's most dangerous creepy crawlies with this video of a spider eating a half a metre long snake.
Cairns kite surfer Ant Hadleigh filmed the golden orb spider devouring the brown tree snake in the backyard of a friend's house in Freshwater, Queensland.

He told The Cairns Post: 'I thought it was pretty incredible. A few times the snake managed to get up and attack the spider, and the spider would run back up the web.
'I would have put my money on the snake for sure, especially seeing how big it was.'

So what is in Australia that isn't poisonous or trying to kill you?

Singapore bars opposition politician from leaving

Quote:
A Singapore opposition party leader on Wednesday denounced the government for rejecting his application to leave the country to address a human rights forum in Norway.

Chee Soon Juan, 51, of the Singapore Democratic Party, needs official permission to travel overseas after he was declared bankrupt for failing to pay libel damages a court awarded the city-state's former leaders six years ago.

Chee's request to be allowed to travel to Norway in May to speak at a forum organised by the New York-based Human Rights Foundation (HRF) was denied because he is behind on payments needed to lift him out of bankruptcy.

"We regret to inform you that your application for the Official Assignee's permission to leave Singapore between 6 May 2012 and 10 May 2012 is not approved," said a government letter to Chee which was seen by AFP.

"We note that you have made no contribution to your bankruptcy estate to date and that you have also not made any proposal for an instalment payment plan for the benefit of your creditors," it stated.

Chee's creditors are former prime ministers Goh Chok Tong and Lee Kuan Yew, who in 2006 successfully sued him for defamation and were awarded Sg$300,000 ($241,000) and Sg$200,000 in damages respectively.

Chee, a psychologist and former university lecturer who is secretary-general of his party but does not hold a permanent job, said his travel ban would do the People's Action Party (PAP) government "more harm than good".

"I'm used to rules and regulations in Singapore introduced, changed and manipulated just to prevent democracy advocates from doing our work effectively," he told AFP.

"The thing the PAP doesn't understand is that the more repressive measures they take, the more society will push back," Chee said, adding that he had made more than 30 travel applications in the past, all of which had been rejected.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, forum organiser HRF urged the government to "reconsider its travel ban" on Chee "in the spirit of human rights".

HRF said overseas travel restrictions on bankrupts "may be legitimate" but in Chee's case, it may be "aimed at further curtailing the freedom of expression of an opposition leader".

The latest travel ban on Chee comes amid growing political openness in Singapore since the May 2011 general elections in which the PAP, in power since 1959, retained its dominance but saw its share of all votes cast fall to an all-time low of 60 percent.

According to the Insolvency Trustee's Office,

Quote:
4. Why should I avoid bankruptcy?
You should avoid bankruptcy for these reasons:

Social stigma on being declared a bankrupt;

Your assets become vested in the Official Assignee and divisible among your creditors;

A statutory requirement to file your Statements of Affairs and Income and Expenditure statements, and thorough investigations by the Official Assignee into your financial affairs;

Monthly payments to your bankruptcy estate for the benefit of the creditors;

Disclosure of bankruptcy if you intend to obtain credit of more than S$500 from others;

Restriction on overseas travel; and

Inability to manage a business or act as director of companies without approval of the Court or the Official Assignee.
NZ Law

Rest of the world....most say that you can't travel without permission from trustee/government.

Americans, please stop exporting your :

1. Idiot voter mentality of not being able to cross-reference with laws and statistics
2. Populist politics
3. Crony Capitalism
4. Widening Gini coefficient

overseas. We are also feeling the pain here with dumbasses in the voting arena and the political table while Big Corp makes off with all of our monies, government owned or not. Thank you. [/sarcasm]
