So been been doing a rewatch on The Idolm@ster anime and after watching one certain scene again, it just prompted me to make a post about it.
Altho first off I'll say that my favorite and most memorable moment in anime is still and probably will always be the scene from episode 309 of One Piece.
But this following scene is now a very close 2nd, something no other anime has managed ever since I saw that One Piece episode.

Well I don't think I need to say too much about it as anyone thats seen The Idolm@ster should know what I'm talking about and for those that don't know what I'm talking about should watch the anime instead, best not to spoil anything.
So if you haven't watched The Idolm@ster then I prompt you to do so before even thinkinga about pressing the play button below.

Gets to me everytime I watch it, there is simply no defense against it!

On a side note The Idolm@ster has alot of great memorable moments but the one above stands out on top for me.

1. The death of Roy Fokker. I still remember how shocked I was when I first saw this episode way back in '85.
2. The appearance of the Zentraedi fleet (4 million + ships) and the subsequent destruction of Earth. I didn't think it was going to happen, even with the canons charging.

But I didn't cry at any scene. I cried when Akio ran after Sanae, like they used to do. That made me bawl like a girl.

When Goku turns super saiyan for the first time during his fight with freiza. I was jumping up and down screaming at the TV the first time I seen this because at the time you just didn't think there was a way to beat frieza and you hated him so much and goku transforms into this bad ass glowing mofo. Excellent.

Whisper of the Heart: The scene where Shizuku sings her version of Country Roads while accompanied by Seiji and the old men on the violin.

Spoiler for Clannad Afterstory ep. 18 and 19:

Ushio crying in Tomoya's arms, Tomoya's conversation with his grandmother, Tomoya tearing up while telling Ushio about Nagisa on the train, Tomoya reconciling with his father and sending him off to go live with his grandmother. Episode 19 is where Clannad Afterstory should have ended. It wrapped everything Tomoya's character arc so beautifully.

Spoiler for Fushigi Yugi:

Nuriko's death. Tamahome's family being slaughtered. Hotohori and Tamahome's duel while Tamahome was brainwashed. Everything involving Amiboshi. Just about everything in the last episode.

Hellmaster Phibrizo threatens to destroy Gourry's soul, killing him forever. He wants Lina to cast the Giga Slave, but she's afraid to, knowing it may destroy the world. Finally, she decides that Gourry is worth more to her than the universe and casts it. Phibrizo attacks her to cause the spell to go wild. The Lord of Nightmares, answers her call, taking over Lina's body and destroys Phibrizo. Gourry wakes up and chases after the Lord of Nightmares to bring Lina back.

Spoiler for FLCL:

The fight against the giant hand in Brittle Bullet to Blues Drive Monster. The show-down between Naota and Haruko on the fossilized hand. Naota absorbs the power of Atmosk, then releases it right before he attacks her, confesses and kisses her.

Spoiler for Madoka:

Mami's head getting chomped.
Kyuubi's revelation that the girls soul gems are actually their souls.
Sayaka killing the guys on the train and becoming a witch.
Kyoko's suicide attack on Sayaka after she realized there was no going back for Sayaka.
Homura being trapped in a time loop to try and save Madoka.
The iteration of the time loop where Madoka and Homura fight Walpurgis night, lose. Madoka gives Homura a grief seed and then begs Homura to shoot her before she becomes a witch.
The final scene where the world has been remade by Madoka so the magical girls no longer become witches. Homura is the only one who remembers her, and continues the fight against the new demon foes.

Without hesitation, he hands her his hat (something he's snapped at Nami for touching), then yells "DAMN RIGHT." Luffy doesn't even know who Arlong is, or what Arlong has done to Nami.

The Strawhat's farewell to Vivi.

Luffy: "Sogeking, make that flag burn." Plus Robin's "I Want to Live"

Ai is stuck out on the moon and nearly dies. She is so terrified of dying alone and I honestly wasn't sure if she was going to make it or not.

Hayate no Gotoku: Clocktower scene. I haven't watched much anime before this and was stunned by such beauty hitherto I had very little contact with, even in fictional stories.
Air: Goal.
Madoka: End of episode 8.
Steins;Gate: When Mayuri puts her hat on Okabe, and just before the ED in episode 22.
Saki: When Touka saw that her newbie opponent is seperating her tiles one at a time except for a solitary pair, realized what it means, and promptly draws a wind tile (after she declared Riichi).

this was the only time when i cried in this series

the last scene when lelouch is dying and the whole plan of lelouch and suzaku is revealed to put an end to everything, how by lelouch's death everyone was united and to keep it like that suzaku had to fake his death and live as zero hiding his own identity forever and finally a better world was created

this was also the only time in this series when i cried

Hiromi has moved out, and Shin is like, omfg, what did i do, so he chases after her on a bike. Hiromi notices, and she looks out of the truck window, her hair blowing in the breeze. he slips and falls in the snow, and Hiromi runs out of the truck, only to slip herself and have Shin cushion her fall.

also, when Hiromi goes riding on a motor cycle with Noe's brother only for the two of them to crash. Noe and Shin arrive on the scene via taxi. Noe runs to her brother. Shin confronts Hiromi, only to have her say, "i'm all right." he embraces her, and she starts to cry, finally realizing how much she means to him, and vice versa.

also, when Shin finally makes up his mind. He shows his book to Noe, which concludes having Jibeta imagined he was the star of the show, only to realize that the other chicken was the one to fly. Shin returns to Hiromi's apartment and finds it empty. he ventures out into the bamboo forest and finds her. she begins to non-chalantly talking about wanting to see the picture book Shin illustrated, only to have Shin interrupt her and say, "lets go out." and "you can see it any time, because i'll be with you forever." and Hiromi is all like, "forever? that sounds like a proposal. i haven't even agreed to go out with you yet." they hug, solidifying their relationship which they knew was there from the start, and i squealed like a girl.

this show was vastly underrated. its a much more mature romance than you usually get. sort of in the vein of Honey and Clover.

I was just skimming the posts, some are really old I know, but when I read this one I just feel that I had to add another scene that is really missing:

Spoiler for ichatta:

the scene where Shin's mother started the fight with Hiromi saying how Hiromi was an easy girl like her mother and so the whole issue came to the surface. Shin's broke in the quarrel and then Hiromi eventually spilled the beans, ending it in tears and saying ichatta.

And then Asuka in End of Evangelion. I have never seen nothing so powerful and well, disturbing, like that fight sequence.

Episode 8 with Simon&Kamina's Giga Drill Breaker and Kamina's subsequent Death.
Episode 11 with Simon finally understands Kamina's last words and stands back up.
Basically the whole final (Ep. 26&27) with the remaining team fighting together.
The whole TTGL is a huge WIN
