Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: I've been an anime fan since I was 5 years old about, since I lived in Japan when I first saw anime.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: Just anime but Mucha Lucha is a rare western animation where I like much as anime.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: Yes, it is mangas most of the time

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: Yes

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: Around $10 because I usually buy mangas when I am in Japan.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: Yes I tend to drop anime more often than I used to

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: No

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: No

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: No

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: No because I'm already familiar with the foods they show in anime.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: Not really.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: Yes helped me decided that I want to be in an art related job.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD

A: Not really

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?

A: Never

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: Around 8 to 11 years.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: Yeah, used to think only japanese could animate. Now I appreciate all non x-rated animation.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: Figures and posters.

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: When you buy something once every 1000 years, nobody cares.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: 0 - 50 bucks. Over 50 would have to be made of magic.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: Heavily. Used to think everything was respectable and great. Now it's just Dragon Ball Zand I tolerate the rest.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: It got worse. Very "stick to formula" and annoyingly predictable characters.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: First Code Geass.....then that became fruitier than a hawaiian punch. Now it's DBZ.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: Well instead of just black-wearing, cool-looking......the character now has to be rational, kind and powerhouse awesome.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: No.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: Well yes, because I though "Seinen" and "Yosei" meant the stories were smarter, more sophisticated and covered a lot more of real life. Not just dirtier beyond belief.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: Nah, they just amuse me very much.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: Memes and such.

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: The genre, maybe. Dragon ball Z, never.

Thanks, this was fun. </fandom/>

I'm not quite an adult yet, so I can't really say for some questions, but I'll post what i can anyways.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: About 7 years, half my life at least.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: Not really. I used to watch a lot of CN when I was little to kill time, but it never really interested me much. Occasionally I can appreciate a short film or Pixar movie.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: Sadly, all I have are a couple issues of Jump and a few volumes of manga. I don't really have an income .

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: Not really.....It's a common source of procrastination and time wasting, and they think I should grow out of it. My brother was cool with it though.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: I just watch fansubs and read scanlations. Again, no income .

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: I would say that I still look for the same themes in my anime as I used to.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: A bit, I'm warming up to some non-shounen and broadening my horizons.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: Yes.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: I've never really gone out and picked favorites, but I guess I've changed my preferences a bit.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: Not specifically, but it has gotten me to warm up to Asian foods. I come from an Asian family, and sometimes eating rice and the same dishes day in and day out gets boring. But for some reason, whenever I watch or read something and they describe a food as delicious, I want to eat it! For example, before I didn't really care for seafood in general, but after seeing tempura and takoyaki and stuff in One Piece, I started to enjoy it more. Weird isn't it?

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: Well I'm not an adult but......ssshhhhh........

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: Yes. Anime has been my one and only role model throughout my life. It's been there for me whenever I needed it. I'm forever grateful. On a side note, it's also gotten me to warm up to writing. I'm thinking of making it a career when I grow up, even though I'm not exactly great .

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: Not really. I play video games occasionally, and I check out memes every so often, but I can't really call it a fandom, and I've never really considered those to be very nerdy.

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: I pray to God (even though I'm not religious) that I never will.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: A few years, though I've only really seeked out anime to watch on my own accord for about two years.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: Just anime, mostly because the other animations' plot and characters and stuff don't tend to appeal to me, so I don't have much motivations to find the exceptions.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: Not really.

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: Kind of. They don't really like it but at this point I could care less what they think fo it.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: A couple hundred dollars maybe.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: Definitely. I've learned to spot common cliches and avoid the ones I don't like.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: Not really. Slice of life comedy all the way.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: For my first few animes it would obviously change constantly. Then I watched Clannad (which was what made me start seeking out animes to begin with) and nothing has taken its spot since.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: It was Hinagiku for a while, then Kuroneko and hasn't changed since.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: Takoyaki. It's ridiculously tasty.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: I play Eroges occasionally. Don't really tend to like doujins, 18+ or not, since their qualities aren't consistent.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: Quite a bit, though I really don't have much life to begin with.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: I understand and respect the fact that some people tend to develop more intensive interests than the "social norm", even if I don't share their particular interests.

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: I think I will eventually become not as intensively interested in it as I do now, but I don't think it will ever go away completely.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: I don't remember how long I've been an anime fan, so I can't answer directly that question

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: Purely anime.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: I have three anime magazines (sadly, my father destroyed two of it after he became upset of me getting out while the rain's pouring out badly),

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: Nope. They're close-minded (common Filipino folk are indifferent about anime and American cartoons; or even worst, HENTAI).

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: PhP 50.00 for a pirated DVD of these... I have remembered having a DVD case of Shakugan no Shana 2 with a fan art of Shana with another girl holding a staff (definitely NOT Hecate), but I don't care.

PhP 120+ for anime magazines

PhP 100+ for .45 ACP bullets costing PhP 8.00 ea-- whoops, wrong turn.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: I am particularly choosy about anime, and still I am particularly choosy about it (especially Yosuga no Sora, which gave me the negative impact for anime going to the borderline of HARDCORE ECCHI and SOFTCORE HENTAI). I am doing research about a certain anime before watching it.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: Not, really. The animes I mostly watched are school-themed anime.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: Nope. actually, it increases!

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: Nah, I don't care about it.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: That, I never had a chance to taste Japanese foods.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: It's not exploring... but I've been warned about Yosuga no Sora by a fellow otaku, still I never listened to his warnings. That was the biggest mistake in my life.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: Nah... but I am thankful that another anime otaku introduced me to the Knights (of the Blessed Sacrament) service. Other thing is I wanna try to create fanfiction stories of two animes I like:

1. Hidan no Aria, which was codenamed as "Project HnA/MK," and which will go by the title "Hidan no Aria: The [NEW] Manila Kingpin"
2. Zero no Tsukaima, which will be an interquel, between the Ancient Dragon's defeat and Louise and Saito's marriage (c'mon, that's way fast for me), and with added elements of my favorite game Grand Chase and another character from both UMVC (the Nemesis T-Type) and the Prince of Persia movie (Zolm, the Hassansin). The project name is Project ZnT/GC, and goes by the title "Zero no Tsukaima: The Forgotten Legends"

Last, but not the least, I want to try to create an original story that is reminiscent of the movie "Fireproof" and with added elements of Hidan no Aria. This is by far the most disgusting original story I have in mind, as it also tackles a very shady subject: pedophilia.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: Nerdy fandom..? I'm sorry, I quite don't get it XDD

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: I'm not gonna say that I'll outgrow anime, but I just can't find any anime titles that I can watch.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: I think it's been 4 or 5 years now, though it took me another year or two before I actually started following shows as they aired.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: Though I'm only actively following anime right now, I have been a fan of Western animation since my childhood. Though I'm watching virtually no new shows from that front, should one come up that captures my attention, I'm willing to try it (such is the case with MLP;FIM)

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: Whatever I want to have, I guess: DVDs, CDs, posters, figurines (especially figurines).

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: They don't even know I'm into this stuff, as I live on my own and they haven't seen all that I collect. My mom probably wouldn't care, though my stepdad would probably blast at me for wasting my money on stuff like this.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: I've probably passed the €2,000 mark by now. And that number will only rise the more I buy.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: I don't think so. I'm usually following the same type of shows every season.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: No. I'm still quite fond of mostly comedy, ecchi and slice-of-life, even more so if the genres overlap.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: Yes and no. I still love Pani Poni Dash!, but I have picked up a few more on the way as well (K-ON!, Madoka Magica, and probably a few others)

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: No.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A; Nope.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: I was already far in my adulthood when I started liking anime, so this question doesn't really apply to me. And technically, I learned of hentai and H-doujins before I got into anime.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: It doens't really seem to have impacted my life much, or perhaps I just don't see it.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: Nope.

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: I wouldn't be surprised if I eventually get a bit tired of it, though I doubt I'll ever 'outgrow' it. I think my fandom came far too late for that.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: It's hard to say, I have been on and off for around 10 year but I only really started watching regularly in the past 2 years.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: Of course, there is allot of funny stuff on cartoon network like super jail, metalocalypse, and adventure time. Theres always family guy and south park etc.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: nah

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: They don't care, everyone does their own thing.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: not much at all

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: I have found I like allot more different types of anime then when I first started. It used to be all mecha and action anime's but now I am really exploring what is out there.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: I don't really have a "favorite" I will watch just about anything with good writing.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: Its hard to say what my favorite would be since different anime's bring different things to the table.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: yes, I used to like just the "badass's" but now I am more into a characters that have more depth and humor.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: RAMEN!! REAL RAMEN!!!! thanks naruto, after seeing so many delicious bowls of real ramen it got me to go try some... oh god soooo good!

Food Pr0n from ippudo last month-

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: not really..

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: Yes and no, I don't really go to any anime events nor do I have many friends that watch it. But watching anime has been a great stress relief and helps to to unwind and forget about life, work, bill etc

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: Not really... most people that know me would be surprised to find out how much anime I watch.

A: Nah, thats like asking will you outgrow having fun.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: Started around kindergarden which was 1997 to 2012. Proper addiction to the hobby proper began at 2002

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: I enjoy Cartoons and Comics, but Anime has it's own genres of appeal

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: Magazine and books and any feelies that get in the way. The only thing that isn't adult stuff is Kirby Plushies.

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: A mix of yes and no, being Chinese the hobby is a bit more problematic to enjoy than other hobbies out there. The fact my stuff is strictly adults stuff does not help me at all. My sister used to like anime but they are absolutely fixated on Korean Culture

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: At most 300-400 dollars a year, that is if I buy BugBug magazines.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: I definitely taken a harsher stance towards the growing amount of LN after an article talking about artist being completely uncreative with male designs and thus unable to make anything more than harems and love comedies definitely made me more jaded. Now I search up the artist online to see what they used to draw and believe me it is not a pretty sight of the future.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: Nope, Mecha and ecchi are the two things I live on

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: I never had a favorite title at all, but i loved gundam to death

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: Never, always give me the most sexually active ones and those "hard to find fanart of" ones

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: Not much really, my experience with Asian culture alway stemmed from the coupon books I have read. While my only experience was sushi before. It quickly went into things like Ramen (ironically my first experience with Ramen was only 3 years ago at a place that just opened in a mall. The Ramen was not very tasty by Japanese standards though), Yoshoku and Izakaya which tastes completely different from standard sushi (Salmon/Tuna/Shrimp).

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: Dude, I started showing Love Hina fanart I printed from the net at elementry school, and then on my trip from HK I bought my first VN artbook. At 15 I bought my first adult manga, I went into the forbidden zone a long time ago.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: No, I don't have the same love for anime as say an otaku, if anything it just influenced my inner hopeless romantic.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom?
A: Video games is a fandom, and I am starting to get into comics

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: It is an ineveitability I will grow out of the genre on the principle of being a fan, but as a source of adult entertainment? Never.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: Decades. To be fair I grew up with anime (and a few cartoons) in my childhood from the 70s and the 80s. I remember my favorites were the old school robot anime like Grendizer, Mazinga Z and Daitarn 3, but I don't really remember why. Anyway it wasn't until 1996 that I truly became a conscious fan of anime. Evangelion, Ranma 1/2, and Video Girl AI, were the titles that hooked me up.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: I don't particularly like cartoons and I tend to dislike anything that isn't aimed to at least an adolescent demographic. I used to like Disney movies but I don't anymore. I did enjoy Futurama, the Simpsons and Family guy but I got tired after a few seasons. I liked some of the 3D animation movie that is all the rage lately, particularly Ice Age and Wall-E.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: That's where I totally differ from your stereoypical otaku, I don't collect practically anything, unless you count my huge library of manga, but I bought them to read them, not to "collect" them or expose them.

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: My parents don't really care. They know I love japanese comics, cartoons and games but it's not like they really know what they are about. Overall they don't seem to see it any different from loving rock bands. My friends either don't mind or they actually are in the same hobby. Oh... and my ex was even more of an otaku than I am.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: It's hard to tell... I have MANY hobbies and my main focus constantly shifts from one to another. I probably used to spend on the range of 1000€ per year in manga and anime. Now it's probably half that much.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: They have changed from when I was a kid definitely, but not really in the past 15 years.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: No. I enjoy I wide range of genres, but sci-fi and fantasy still remain my favorite settings, whether it's about manga, books, anime or games.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: Not since Cowboy Bebop. Before it was Evangelion, before: Hokuto no Ken (I discovered it very late), and before that: Saint Seiya.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?

A: I don't think I ever had a particular character archetype that I liked.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: Uhm not really... Apart from the fact I never had a chance to actually taste most of the foods I learned about (dango, okonomiyaki, mochi, taiyaki, takoyaki, sukiyaki, curry rice), japanese cuisine in general doesn't sound much appealing to me.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: I'm not particularly fond of hentai or ecchi, but I learned that some of them have actually a substantial plot. I was introduced to Tatsuya Egawa with Golden Boy and I really loved it. I then read his more mature manga and I was astonished at how much deep from an anthropoligical and philosophical standpoint his stories are. But apart from him I haven't really found anything really worthwhile. I don't mind the few fanservices here and there but it gets annoying when it goes overboard.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: It definitely did, but due to the butterfly effect, what didn't?

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: Heavy metal, tabletop roleplaying games, aircrafts, but I've been introduced to them by friends from high school, before I really become engrossed with anime and manga.

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: At this point I don't think it's possible.

A: Not really, unless it pops up in front of me for sale, practically

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: Indifferent. :S

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: Not much, being the cheap bastard I am.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: Never really had one

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: Not for a long time. It's been Higurashi, and before that was rather cloudy on which was my favorite.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: Somewhat. I went from liking really cocky, overconfident characters to those soft spoken, really cool characters. Fate Testarossa is pretty much definitive of what characters I ended up liking. But something that combines the above works fine too! I also grew allergic to Type A tsunderes.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: No, not really. Maybe Mapo Tofu and curry ramen? lol

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: Err... if this means more serious anime, then yes. If you mean shit like hentai, I honestly was more familiar with that before anime.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: It allows me a vehicle to continue making silly posts in forums in my spare time.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: Star Trek, really any kind of random space sci-fi, which incidentally I don't have that much of in anime.

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: It's not really something to outgrow.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: Years. While I've been seeing dubbed anime on local TV since childhood, I can say for certain that my personal, non-mainstream anime revolution began in late 2006 (I refuse to call myself an otaku ). Before that, I was just a casual watcher who knew nothing about stuff like fansubs on the net.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: When I was a kid, I watched almost anything animated on TV. Nowadays, I just focus on anime. Watching other kinds of animation doesn't sound too bad once in a blue moon, though.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: Display Figures. And a small number of other stuff. A visit to my MFC page will reveal some specifics.

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: Either yes, or they simply don't care. Nobody bothers me about it, and while my sisters are huge Korean pop culture fans, nobody bothers them about it either. To each his/her own, I guess.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: I... don't even want to think about it. I'll add it all up... some other day.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: A bit? Or perhaps not. For the most part, I still avoid very long shows (100+ eps), not because I think they're bad, but because I don't like the amount of time needed to complete just one of those shows.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: I don't really have a single favorite genre now. But I used to really like mecha in the past.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: I have a bunch of favorite titles in my head, but nothing that could be considered a single top favorite. I even keep an unranked, separate personal favorite, namely, Full Metal Panic!, but it's not a top favorite in the conventional sense. None of those titles have been replaced. They just grew in number.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: I have lots of favorite characters, and the variety of their types tell me that I don't have a single favorite character type either. I do have more favorite female (moe) characters now than in the past, if that's anything.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: Let's see. I thank Kanon '06 for Gyuudon (Mai!), Clannad for Anpan (Nagisa!), and various other anime for Pocky. My quest continues for locally-sold real Ramune, real Taiyaki, real Melonpan, and true Gari-Gari-kun, however.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: I got introduced to that in my early teens (now 22) with a certain title that I do not want to mention. I blame my cousin... Now that I'm a bit sub-genre-savvy (with anime and manga in general), I will absolutely avoid anything involving NTR, rape, infidelity, blackmail or other unspeakably abnormal stuff. As a straight guy, no yaoi either. I also generally avoid derivatives of existing works.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: It certainly brought some excitement into my otherwise boring life. And I would have never found my way here and other anime-related sites if my fandom/fanhood (that's probably not a word) didn't grow to what it is now. It also sparked an interest for Japanese Culture and Japanese History in general. And led me to try learning basic Japanese. Now JLPT 4 (2009 format, equivalent to N5) certified.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: I used to be addicted to computer games and some MMOs, but now not so much. I'm also a big Touhou Project fan (pretty sure that doesn't count as anime fandom, yes?). Fantasy fiction novels, perhaps? I've read all of the main Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind, except for his books The Law of Nines and The Omen Machine. I also read Haruki Murakami's surreal fiction novels. Not sure if the latter two I mentioned count, though.

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: Never. I don't really think it's something to outgrow. It's just one form of entertainment to me, like what live-action movies are to someone else. I see myself still rewatching my faves even years later, if my storage media are still usable by then.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
A: 6 Years, I started in ~2006 with Ouran High School Host Club and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
A: Yes, in particular the Disney and Pixar films. Western Kids Animation interests me about as much as Anime for kids, however.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
A: I've got a model kit or two. Never really took to collecting though.

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
A: Yes, though overall they're not that interested.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
A: I don't spend much, mostly because I don't have much money . I might buy model kits when I'm wealthier, or maybe I'll mail the animation studios a cheque to ease my conscience.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
A: I've become less patient with shows that are clichéd and formulaic. I seek out artier series.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
A: Not particularly, starting out my favourites were Comedy, Romance and Mecha, and those are still my favourites, allbeit with the caveat that they're not clichéd.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A: I've become less fixated on individual titles as I've watched more.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
A: No, I still like the same kind of characters, EG Over the top Aces in Mecha, confident female leads, but I have become more wary of cookie cutter characters.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
A: Nope. Maybe Ramen.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
A: In a word, yes.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
A: Yes, it's made me more open to new experiences.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
A: Grand Strategy Gamers and Science Fiction. How "nerdy" those are is quite open to interpretation. I personally find, at least with the former, that it doesn't particularly mix with nerdy fandoms (more with history buffs, politics heads), while the latter is fairly mainstream (and I'm not hugely into SF).

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
A: My tastes are changing. I can see myself falling out of the core demographic of young adult male that most anime is aimed at. I'm already fairly tired of the fact that 90% of anime consist of school aged teens, and would like to see people my own age (or older). That said, I don't see myself ever stopping entirely. For all the dreck floating around, there's always something new and interesting. But I doubt I'll ever go back to the days where I'd spend 30-50 hours a week just watching Anime.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
Been exposed to Robotech as a very young kid, then dragonball/sailormoon in elementary. Full on otaku didn't start with the digital age though around the year 2000 with subs for Boys Be and To Heart.

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
I like animation as a whole, but I tend to gravitate to anime because it tends to have my main ship present there.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
Just DVDs (now only BDs), and a few assortment of figures. Finding osananajimi figures locally is a pain though.

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
Indifferent really.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
I spend at least 500 bucks a convention, sometimes even a grand. There's 2 conventions a year, and I've been doing it for what, 5 years? So yeah, thousands just to help the anime industry; I rarely rewatch my purchases.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
If anything, anime reinforces my shipping of osananajimi characters.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
Still romance and mecha. Former is obvious, but latter is a side effect of Macross. Helps that childhood friends are more prevalent in mecha too.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
Macross --> Twelve Kingdoms when I first saw it. I still love Juuni Kokki to bits.

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
Nope. Still osananajimi.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
I hate fish, but tried sushi and loved it. Can't handle eel or takoyaki though.

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
Some hentai are actually well written love stories, so yeah. "Honey" off the top of my head to name one.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
Well, its been a point of connection to some of my friends, who otherwise I have no interests that we would share.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
Was a Harry Potter Fanatic up until book 6. Then I got finally fed up and say screw it lol.

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
Until another form of fiction has consistent appearance of childhood friends and decent chances of winning the romance, probably not.

Q: How long have you been a fan? Days? Months? Years? Decades?
Since I first watched Kenshin/Ranma/DBZ/Gundam Wing... about 15 years?

Q: Do you enjoy other animation as well? Or just anime?
If the stuff on Cartoon Network counts (before DBZ) then its them. Not so much after it died.

Q: Do you collect anime-related items and if so, what?
Gunpla and model though only handful.

Q: Does your family accept your hobby?
I think so.

Q: How much would you estimate expenses on your hobby?
3 models and 2 gunpla in 2 and a half years.

Q: Comparing to how you were then, to how you are now, would you say your tastes have changed?
Yes, back then I would eat any Shounen action anime like Naruto that was thrown at me, now I avoid most of them like a plague.

Q: Has your favorite genre changed?
Nope will always be Mecha.

Q: Has your favorite anime title changed?
A few times along the way, Gundam Wing then Trigun then Code Geass then...

Q: Has your favorite character type changed?
I guess, I accept more characters than before.

Q: Speaking of taste, is there any food/drink you are VERY thankful to anime for introducing you to?
Melon Bread (thanks Yakitate!! Japan).

Q: If/When you entered adulthood, did you....'explore' the more mature side of anime/manga?
Blood, Gore? Then yes.

Q: Would you say that your fandom has contributed to your life significantly?
Think games affected me more.

Q: Most anime fans have pretty much accepted they are geeks/nerds. Do you have a liking for other types of nerdy fandom? XD
Games, Touhou(Mainly music) and somewhat Warhammer 40k

Last question: Do you think you'll ever outgrow anime or manga?
As long it does not go down a certain route that will kill anime for me, No.
