Which is why you'd do this right after the Lancer showdown. But, I am going to hold off on that final opinion until the end since the placement is not accidental and may prove to be worth it.

I guess the truth was twisted a little?

That is quite true. He really did show his skill here. Good thing for him since he hasn't really had a chance to. Imagine his next interview:

"I was Kiritsugu Emiya in the famed Fate/Zero anime."

"Okay, but he had no emotion - anyone could have read those lines."

"Err..."

I think Rikiya Koyama has done as great job as Kiritsugu all the way. This was definitely his moment to shine and he did a stellar job with it, but even as the emotionally subdued Kiritsugu, he's had a very nicely nuanced performance, the kind of which where you can still sense the character's suppressed feelings underneath. His melancholy during his parting with Illya, his frustration towards Saber's chivalry getting in the way of his plans, his enmity towards honorable types like Lancer, etc. have all been subtly discernible in his skillful delivery.

But then again, the same goes for basically all of the cast. Top tier voice acting is yet another one of the key ingredients that make F/Z such a remarkable show.

Great OST, especially the ending in episode 19.

Not sure why Emiya had to blow the plane up when Natalia could've crashed it in the ocean. Also, it's kind of puzzling how she sneaked a gun onto a plane but whatever.

How would that have assured the destruction of the bees and ghouls?

Just like how every other assassin in fiction does it. They're pros. They have their ways. Or magic... which they have in this series.

And obviously Natalia did not consider the option of crashing it into the ocean since she wasn't the self-sacrificial type of person. She wanted to survive at the risk of spreading the death and disease on the plane to the mainland. Understandable of course. She doesn't want to play hero, only doing what she does to make ends meet.

Read page 5 or 6 about water landing. Natalia's chance to survive was close to 0 if she did that. She chose the safer route in order to survive.
About the gun, I've read many comments saying that doing something like that back then wasn't all that hard as it is now. Either way she is an assassin, she has her ways.
Edit: Below, ya my bad I forgot when this takes place.

Who cares about the 80's? This takes place in 1994.

What was that magic Natalia used to kill Vorzak?

The main story takes place in 1994. Kiritsugu looks about 15 or 16 in this episode so I'd imagine that it takes place in 1981, or somewhere very close. We know that Heart of Freaks takes place in 1978 and Kiritsugu was already Natalia's "Maiya" by then.

Ah, that's true. My bad. Back then it wouldn't surprise me if you could put a gun in your checked baggage. Not like you could generally get into the cargo area.

What makes the plan even less plausible is the fact Natalia doesn't have any experience with airbus, but a Cessna, which is in a complete different league.
ok, new plan. Fly the plane just 20-30 above sea level and jump, emiya shoot it.

Not when Urobuchi is the author! No happy endings allowed!

I was looking forward to seeing kerry having a final showdown with zombie/vampire/dead apostle Shirley this episode. Instead we get to see him shoot down his step mother's plane on mother's day. Urobuchi is one sick dude, but his illness is what makes his shows so effing awesome.

Nope, chances of her surviving that are as nonexistent as for a water landing. First off, assuming she could break the cockpit windows and get outside, most jump trajectories would either slam her body onto the fuslage or suck her into the intake. Next, plane's still going real fast, she'd hit the water like it was concrete no matter the height. Last, she'd have to set the autopilot to either stay level or go into a nosedive before leaving, assuming she even knew how to do that much. She's unlikely to get off in time if the plane nosedives, but if it was set to level flight, it could actually fly long enough to reach land before crashing.
I think Natalia would have been satisfied to land and have Kiri blow up the plane after she escaped. She would have let the MA and the church clean up any ghoul outbreak if any of the bees had escaped. Too bad for her, Kiri doesn't think that way.

I don't think either MA nor the church cares about her well being either. The church would just want to kill anyone that has anything to do with magic, and the MA would want the safest method to dispose of that huge mess anyway (i.e. using the rocket launcher and shoot it down mid air, or something equivalent). Remember that she's just a mercenary, the one that sneaks in before those two to steal the most treasured crests for money. Chances are that those two organisations don't like her anyway.

I think he means have her land...run off ahead of the ghoul/bee outbreak, and let the other organizations deal with the aftermath. If she did that a lot of people would die. Not only those killed or turned into ghouls, but also any witnesses.

even at 20m the water is still like concrete? and still there is chance for her survive even extremely low, no? it is better than a plan with 0% survival rate.
